Okay so it's obvious that Tony is a well known name in Pattaya, and some on here are proud of having rubbed shoulders with him.
For the rest of us, who is Tony?

I went there a few years ago. Only ever paid as day use, visiting three times a week to work out with a personal trainer. Their PTs left or were "discontinued" overnight. The only rationale from the "management" being "finit" "no hab".

Never pay for anything in advance in thailand.

I used to go to Tony's Gym in Patters on Soi Buakhow.

Just paid daily as I was on a short vacation.

I have never been to a gym in my life and have no intention of going to one. I live near a hill which has been used to train boxers who have been undisputed World Champions. They did not have fancy equipment and seemed to manage nicely without it. Show me a man who who goes to a gym to get muscles and I'll show you a man who has an empty head.

I tried to use Tony's gym on the very corner of South Pattaya Road and 3rd Road in September but was told it was for locals and other S.E. Asians, not foreigners like myself who had white skin. Was told to go up the road half a block, which I did but was sticker shocked by the price, which was, if I can recall corrrectly, 250 baht for the day. A five minute walk toward 2nd Road there is a gym that charges 100 baht. It may not win any beauty contests but in a pinch, it will do.

The cavemen and their set ups in Lumpini Park charge 50 Baht for non-Thais

Really ancient equipment, rusty. Not for the faint hearted

If you want to get super fit in Pattaya head up to Big Buddha Hill. Lots of hills to run up, a fitness park with a few pieces of equipment and also an outdoor gym with free weights, kettle bells and a boxing ring and the best thing is ....its all free.

Talking of Tony and money i know a girl who used to be a dancer in Tonys Disco...She said that trying to get the wages of him each week was a nightmare. He used to invent infringements and dish out fines so he wouldn't have to pay them the full salary

^Tonys gym in Jomtien is still open, as is his original large gym on 3rd Road. No idea about the others.

Ramkhamhaeng 24 is still open at 900 a month, albiet slightly dilapidated and without aircon, but working out in freezing temperatures indoors can make you ill.

Your supposed to sweat and get hot. I'm a hot guy already so I just sweat.

No, I'm talking about the big one on the corner of Sth Pattaya Road and 3rd Road, which is a massive sporting complex that runs for about 150 meters along 3rd Road.

I know there's one somewhere on Soi Buakow, but don't know where exactly. If it's still open or not, I don't know.
