Its school holidays for the kids so im taking the missus and kids to jomtien mid august, anyone recommend a decent family style gaff to park up in, defo need a pool, a swim up bar for me would be good to, figuring on spending $100 / $120 a night Like wise we might have a couple of nights on ko samed as well . Never been to samed or jomtien . only the darkside a few years ago , any info from members would be great, and if anyone fancies a bevvy as well by all means get in touch ( oh, kids are 4 and 7)

The best place for families is the Sugar Hut which is absolutely superb. A little pricey but your kids would love it and only a short drive to the beach.

havent started googling hotels just yet, might do that this afternoon when i have an early knock of wanted to get the skinny from Teakdoor members on the ground first , That sugar hut looks right up my alley though, Will pm you prior to arriving loytoy , Ticket from udon thani is booked with airasia to don muang a bit under 9000 baht for 4 of us not so bad really, just need to jump in the car and head over to udon from vientiane and park up at the airport,

Im not taking her to the darkside mate, just jomtien, actually it was her suggestion to go to Jomtien, i reckon she has seen worse though, On our way to boracay we had to pass by angeles city, A place where i had let the ferret out for a run or 2 back in the mongering day, Bloody long memories those flip birds, i even had to grow a beer gut before we arrived so as not to be recognised as the svelte athlete they lusted after. Worked a treat it did

Good value not too many Russians and near to Nong Nooch and the new Cartoon Network water Park so you should keep the kids and better half happy

There is buses and stuff to Jomtien but that means slumming it so better to have your own car or rent a motorsai

Just remembered you and the Missus are partial to seafood so if you stay at the Ravindra you will be spoiled for choice, you have Ban Ampur and Bang Sare nearby as well as the places at the South end of Jomtien Beach road personally I would try Bang Sare loads of good places to eat there and only 10 minutes on a moped...

Thanks for the info mark, It looked like i was spoiled for choice with hotels there, i finally made decision a few days ago and have booked in at a place called panchalae , doesnt look to shabby. i hadnt heard of the cartoon network water park before, sounds like the kids will have enough to keep em amused in pattaya ,
