Pattaya Pig and Whistle, is the breakfast a rip off???

First all no complaints about the quality of the food for the pig and whistle breakfast it is just the price, went there with the wife yesterday, even though only a 42kg Thai, she eats like a horse, and will devour the big breakfast no problem.
    Prices breakfast 150 baht
    Coffee 35 baht
    Orange juice 50 baht

235 baht (470 baht for 2) to me is excessive, when you compare it to my breakfast of choice, Juice bar on Soi Lenke 120 baht including oj and tea/coffee, and the breakfast is also of a higher quality in my opinion.

For 2 people pig and whistle 470 baht or Juice bar 240 baht, fucking big difference.
Where do you eat breakfast in Pattaya/Jomtien and how much????

I had one or two breakfasts in Pattaya over the long weekend stay and my favourite was some place called Baywatch which is on that road which runs along the beach. If I am not wrong it was around 150 baht and included OJ and coffee and everything else I would have wanted - apart from no baked beans.

A less substantial breakfast was had at a place called Cucumber (opposite Com centre). Less substantial but very nice and was 120 baht I think - and also included tea and coffee.

The worst was on some funny little resort on Koh Larn. Expensive (150 baht), not at all substantial and crap.

I presume you've never had an English Breakfast in Bangkok. Some go up to 400B.

7 quid for 2 people is hardly going to bankrupt you.

i almost went in the Dogs Bollocks the other day.

It seemed to have less skinhead disgrace to our country wankers in there than usual.

Is the Pig & W still owned by that guy Andrew? He had the looks of a 'ex cop, always a cop'?

The Pig is a decent breakfast, but a bit overpriced. I doubt that would bother a tourist and it's had a decent rep for a while, so no doubt capitalises on that a bit. I have to say, I think their Sunday roast is well over rated, and I was very underwhelmed by their fish n' chips.
Canterbury Tales, Soi Chayapoon off Soi Bukhao may not be the cheapest in town, but it's a good deal less than the Pig and at least as good imo. I think it runs to about 120 Bht, inc. juice & coffee.

I like the P&W... a bit paeng but the quality is OK, service good and if you sit through the back bit, less smoky and crowded. I've got the hots for one of their waitresses as well (but that's my problem).

One thing I took 'em to task for was the coffee refill. The first mug was from 'the machine', probably Boncafe and quite nice. However, the refill was instant and probably not Nescafe either.

Pig & Whistle is a great place for a hearty Breakfast! I will return until the food is bad. Not an everyday place, otherwise you will look like a pig!

    Very nice breakfast indeed!!!

Crazy Dave's on Soi Chaiyapoon, Pattaya. Their 'Fat Bastard's' breakfast for 100 Bht (I think), is excellent value for money, and you can enjoy watching re-runs of 'Fools and Horses' whilst eating it.

Wished I had seen this before going to Pattaya last weekend, we tried the breakfast at some place called Papa Johns in Jontiem.
140 baht for the big breakfast 1 each of which my kids could get through. Incl a coffee but no juice, good but not exceptional breakfast tho, apart from the crap Thai bread and jam they serve with it.

Tried the Butchers arms for an evening meal, in the barely OK area, got my balls banged for staring too long at one very nice waitress. but doubt wether I would go back for the food.

Thoughts have been well aired on Crazy Dave and not knocking it though they lost me at my last visit, but there's also Canterbury Tales a couple of doors along towards soi Bukhaow, it's a double unit used bookshop and restaurant that serves very edible foods and an all-day-breakie, I like their pat pit geng pla/gai/kung, also free pool and internet, no Del boy but sports run the roost.

Agree that Baywatch i on Beach Road is good. I usually have beans on toast with coffee or tea for 80 bahts. (Large Baked beans with a slightly sweet taste to them...lovely!) They have wide range of other breakfast choices as well.Good fans and a/c with decent view. I used to use Lek Hotel but their food this year has turned out to be very mushy / messy...you would know it was just thrown together for a cheap buffet. Last year it was great.
