    Sketchbook Art Cafe - Jomtiem.

A little oasis in the Pattaya region.

If you have a hankering for some quality coffee and a slice of cake, then look no further than here.

The place is an artists house that has been opened to the public selling art supplies, coffees, food as well. It's very cool with its high roof, and with lots of knooks and crannies, it is a lovely retreat for a hot afternoon. Unadvertised it is often quiet and tranquil.

    Enjoy - we do.

Because most people on here do not live in Thailand, come to Thailand, or barely know where Thailand is, so it doesn't really matter. Those that do are those that I think might enjoy it and therefore it is a positive addition to a Thailand based forum.

Not my cup of tea, that's a place of untidiness and oppression of smokers.

Love it. the clutter, non uniformity and general interesting chaos of the place.

Nice to know real people are alive and well and running places like this.

Great photos too capturing the mood of the place .

Looks lovely. We have the same sort of places here, lots of comfy couches, books and local art. Only usually find them through word of mouth. Artists' Ateliers. They don't make much profit but make good coffee!!

Lovely places to just sit and chill and chat. Very calm, with cats as well.

I was in there last month, great coffee.
    Very nice staff too.

I also ate in the India by Nature which is pretty close, opposite side of the road.
My meal here was extremely poor and expensive for bland crap.
Very nice venue and very nice staff but the food........

On what used to be Thappaya, now changed to Jomtien 2nd Road, directly opposite where TD is/was in Eric's time.

Been there a few times, usually with mates for a coffee and chat in sanctuary from the madness outside.

India by Nature must be the worst value for a 'class' joint in Pattaya. Come to think of it the best Indian I've had in Thailand was in the Bkk Arab quarter, and that was not only expensive but crap compared to a mediocre Brit curry house.

I've heard nice things about a curry place in soi Bukhaow opposite soi 10, will get around to a visit sometime.

Great to hear it's not just me that won't set foot in Indian By Nature ever again. 4 of us went there once, ordered something like 6 starters and 7 mains to share, thought the food was way overpriced and bland at best, and left hungry. Add to this the 3 piece Indian band canvassed us for tips while we were eating and they can stick it right up their collective arses, never again...

Thanks for the tip and pics of Sketch Book, will definitely stop in there for a coffee shortly.

Shit, I know this place really well as I used to go buy my terracotta plant pots off him.

Very kind of you. I will have a Guinness please. Drop a can of it off at third soi dog on the left as you enter Pong and I'll pick it up from there.

Actually - Murphy's has made an appearance in Friendship which is nice.

I am addicted to this cafe's Apple Crumble Cake now, by the way. I find it very hard to drive past there now.
