Pattaya to Siem Reap by air

After visiting some mates in Pattaya I was off to Siem Reap, so attempting to avoid the trip to BKK I searched for a direct flight from U Tapao. Found a company, Legacy Air.
Booked return flight for the dates I wanted. Price $280. Fine. Two days before the flight I get a phone call from a Russian chap telling me my flight had been rescheduled to Suvanabhumi, flight times almost identical so no real inconvenience apart from a longer trip to the airport and immigration delays.
In fairness the chap from Legacy Air did come to my hotel with the new tickets and paid for the taxi to Swampy. The new tickets were for flights with Cambodian Angkor Air, a very pleasant flight, good snack box on route dispute it only being a 50 min flight.
So no real complaints but I do hope Legacy Air can get enough customers eventually to get this service truly up and running.

Can that count as a visa run?

No chance of that when they can find mugs willing to pay over 3000 baht extra for a Cambodian Angkor Air ticket.

Price of flight ticket to Cambodia - 8700 baht
1 and a half hour taxi to Swampy - 0 baht
The look on Vladimirs face waving the taxi goodbye- priceless

Hope you enjoy SR - great place for a few days and loads of cheap good places to stay

I prefer the car to SR - 3-3.5 hours to the border, do visa on line and then haggle with the monkeys on the other side, usually offer 30us but offer more if they stay under 90 kph.

Door to door in under 6 hours and less hassle than flying.

I take your point Dillinger, but I have spent enough time here to be grateful that I didn't just lose my money, no flight at my convenience etc.
I did tell Mr Russki that next trip I will book and pay just before departure.

I really did enjoy my time in Siem Reap, becoming a great place, some very good quality restaurants and not a brawling drunk falang in sight.
