Any way to get cheaper Perscription meds?

I am currently staying in Thailand until December 22. I am staying in the pattaya area (sriracha). I take Vyvanse (D amphetamine) for ADD. I found out that they dont prescribe amphetamines here so when i went to a doctor in pattaya he said that they Only had concerta. I was like okay thats fine ill try something new. The doctor then asked if i was going to sell them and obviously im not so i answered no. He then asked how many and what dose. I said 120 of max strength. So he sent me with a script to the pharmacy and i walked up to pay and the lady said 30000 baht. I was like holy shit, so i dropped it to 30 a month which was still over 7000 baht. I was wondering if there was a way to get a cheaper version of this drug here. I am only 19 and i definitely can not afford to do this each month. As of now im trying to make my 30 last the next 3 months lol. I know the pharmacy at the pattaya- bangkok hospital is more expensive than most, but do normal thai pharmacies even sell Concerta?

If anyone has any information that can help me it would be much appreciated.

    Thanks!!!

You might try a pharmaceutical-free existence....

You'll find it quite liberating, especially as it applies to fabricated afflictions as ADD.

    komsan,

pay attention you terrible little oik.

    Here is a plan:-
Get in there and get wrecked, then eat a pork pie, then drop a couple of Surmontil-50s. That means you'll miss out Monday but come up smiling Tuesday morning.

Firstly the pharmacy at any hospital will be more expensive than a simple pharmacy.
Maybe someone on here has a cheaper pharmacy recommendation in Pattaya if not get on a bus to Bangkok about 120 Baht each way.
That way people on here can recommend a pharmacy in Bangkok. Like the one near Nana BTS or the ones on Rama 4 near Chula hospital.

Please bear in mind that one cannot buy cough remedies in Thailand that contain ingredients that can be turned into party drugs, so you may be faced with the same problem.
Better to think inside the pub, than outside the box?
I apologize if any offence was caused. unless it was intended.

    Come on, Ter...
"Cholesterol" levels can be easily controlled by a clean diet and a modicum amount of excersize.

7-11 sells ADD medication in various sizes of bottle and at varying levels of potency.

Take 14 bottles of Leo and an aspirin and you won't have Attention Deficit Disorder, you'll have No-Attention Deficit Disorder.

Plomplem solved! (no need to thank me BTW)

komsan as you have probably noticed from this thread TD is infested with chaps so fare gone that they have absolutely no idea that there really is a difference between the reality around them and the crap they dream up in their heads.... and just how desperately they are in need of balancing their brain chemistry.
ignore them and if you want to avoid them just say away from the 'conspiracy' themed threads and TD's care in the community forum 'speakers corner'. So ignore them and leave theim to fester in their own issues.

As for your issue, I will be meeting a thai pharasist I know in a weeks or so and will ask him about these two drugs of yours. I will update this thread is there is anymore to add to what I am putting below.
The problem is that although Thailand gives the impression of treating phara drugs like sweets, providing people with unfeted access, this all stops with a huge wall of sanctimonious prudishness when it comes to anything thats the slightest bit narcotic or psycoactive.

In the case where these drugs are not seen to be a social issue in thailand they , codine, valium, are prescription only and often available illegally from your local pharmacist as long as the quanity is small and they know you. getting a prescription can be interesting as the doctor will be eventually taking the risk of having the police on his/her back if they give you a prescription for these drugs and then you get in trouble with the police.

The government is fully aware about just how pourus pharmacists are and some private hospitals for that matter, so when these drugs are part of a problem in thailand amphetamines and their precursers. then access is often restricted to government hospitals and private hospitals that have been granted permission and out pacent access can difficult to achieve.

best thing to do is goto a pharamsist as for these two drugs and if they cannot sell them to you ask what their status is. i.e which hospitals will have them.

I would imagin that Vyvanse is one of those drugs thats restrcited to government hospitals. It might be worth going to one, to see a doctor and seeing if its available. I and mine have used chulalongkorn hospital west side of luprini park, rajavithi hospital on the sw corner of victory monument and 200M away rama hospital on the corner of rama VI and ratchawithi. We have found these hospitals to be good enough for the issues we have had, though none of them have been realted to the issues you have had.

These hospitals will sell you the drugs for a lot less than a private hospital, though you might have a harder time getting the prescription government hospitals and their doctors don't have quite the same incentives to be mercenary about seperatinging people from their money compaired to their colleges in private practice.

The government hospitals are not as posh as the private hospitals, but saying that the premium consulting building for rama and chula are perfectly peasent, though busy. All thai doctors are taught in english and will often keep their notes in english too, so they all have a basic command of english at worst and most counters will have someone available to deal with pesky English speakers. SO you might find it a worthwhile experience.

I apreicate that you are in pats and Ive described the teaching hospitals of bangkok, but thats all I know.... ive never been in a hospital outside bkk. someone esle in pats might be able to give you the low down

initially i entirely rejected the idea, that amphetamines could "help" people... means, that there could be a real condition, that would require amphetamines as a treatment... (not saying, there cant be other things that help possibly even better)...

but its true... after going in a looooooooooong circle, i had to admit, that there are truly conditions, which require amphetamines...
but - you really have to be sick (from a REAL condition, "adhd" is imo only a symptom) in the first place

though, apparently people that are NOT sick can "profit" heavily from amphetamines and so abuse-factor is high...

i was "eligible" for adhd-medication in bumrungrad hospital...
there was no amphetamine, even though i wouldnt tolerate ritalin...
the only alternative offered was, adding an anti-depressant... although i wasnt and am anti-prone to depression...
you wont get amphetamines in thailand... maybe in the backroom of a pattaya bar...

and even IF you have a condition, that "requires" amphetamines, basically i mean, that in this case amphetamines do EASE, but they WONT cure the underlying condition...

..so, in this case you will NEVER get around in the treatment of the underlying condition...

the amphetamines DONT help for long... as the body will "adjust" or "adapt" to the changed environment and as they dont cure, the problem or other side effects will (re-)appear and change during time...

so, amphetamines are an immediate EASE, but medium-term no CURE...
thats why VERY MOST of all amphetamine-takers end up - sooner or later - with anxiety, depression stuff, which they then take in addition to amphetamines... this causes a "state", nobody really nobody in the universe can predict anymore, what it will cause within you...

    this world is completely crazy...
    most of all the psychiatrists...
