    Royal Varuna Yacht Club,

It's on pratunak hill, near cosy beaxch hotel.

Members only. (But pop down and get an application form.) Races every weekend, mainly dingy sailing, lasers, hobies and nacras. (Plus kids camps etc).

Haven't got the numnber handy, but google it.

The Top of the gulf regatta is one of the biggest in the gulf and attracts yachts from all over the SE Asian area. Pattaya has a big sailing community. It certainly has more Farangs willing to promote Pattaya as a sailing destination unlike the miserable tight arsed farangs on Samui.
Treat everyone as a complete and utter idiot and you can only ever be pleasantly surprised !

no the Varuna is for small skiffs, hobie cats and smaller boats. I dont think it has a marina for motorized yachts.

What do you really want to do? It sounds like charter rather than crew.

True, but the folks down at Varuna will be able to give him some contacts for those that do.

    Cool Crew

Thks Guys, just looking for some people who like leisurely sailing to a beach, anchor off, have a bbq or find a local restaurant on the beach, have a swim and drink beer/wine.Need to have a slight interest in sailing and willing to haul on some ropes occasionally.Nothing too serious.
    Cheers

I was out all weekend, Saturday afternoon had the best winds, and 1-2 metre rolling swell which was just perfect for a Hobie cat.

    Enjoy your sail!

If you are in Ocean marina then have a look around and ask for Bill Gasson. He has a couple of companies there associated with boating and will be able to point you in the right direction. Bill is one of the founders of the Phuket Kings Cup Regatta and used to be a leading racer until others with more money and bigger boats ousted him from the winners dais.
Look for his company named Buzz Cats.
    Good luck.
