2 Ways to Cure Jock Itch - wikiHow

    Prescription medications
If jock itch is severe or doesn't respond to over-the-counter medicine, you may need a prescription-strength topical or oral medication.
Topical medications. These include econazole and oxiconazole (Oxistat).

Oral (systemic) medications. Your doctor may prescribe itraconazole (Sporanox), fluconazole (Diflucan) or terbinafine (Lamisil) Side effects from these medications include gastrointestinal upset, rash and abnormal liver function. Taking other medications, such as antacid therapies for ulcer disease or gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), may interfere with the absorption of these drugs. Oral medications for fungal infection may alter the effectiveness of warfarin, an anticoagulant drug that decreases the clotting ability of your blood.

Another oral medication, griseofulvin (Grifulvin V), is sometimes used to treat fungal skin infections. Although it's effective, it may take longer to clear up the infection. Potential side effects include headache, discomfort in the digestive tract, sensitivity to light, rashes or a drop in your white blood cell count. Griseofulvin may be used for people who are allergic to other antifungal medications, or for people who have other medical conditions that may be negatively affected by other medications, such as people with liver disease

liberally spread athletes foot powder on it, as it's the same kind of fungal infection ,
and powder helps dry the area out.

Build the damn wall higher, and man it with snipers.

Declare a no mans land, and shoot anybody wearing a dress.

If that fails, google some shit reply where the Yanks pretend to not know that a jock is a scotchman.

Boots has two types of antifungal medication cream. Try them both to see which one works best for you. The jock rot should be gone in a few days. If it's coming back maybe you should wash your shorts more often or keep your groin dryer.

^ agree. Nothing like the natural ocean salt to cure jock, foot, and any other type of open sore crud.

^ tried that. But it only made my balls itch too. A dip in the ocean did the trick.

One thing my mom did when I came home from VietNam with foot crud was a mixture of water and clorox. Hurts like hell and it took 3 people to hold my feet in the bucket, but cured the foot crud. Haven't had it since.

Try using Quadriderm cream. It is anti-inflammatory, anti-bacterial and anti-fungal.

I was getting rashes under my arms (from anti-perspirants containing alcohol) and this stuff worked a treat... 2 days and it was gone...

Manufactured in Argentina by Schering-Plough SA but imported to Thailand. Got it from a local pharmacy.

^ n ^^ agree...best see a doctor, even one of those shop house docs who open at nite to handle the wee girlies. I say this, because you claim it's recurring - NOT GOOD. Enuf wif the sermon, now down to practicalities.

As said above QUADRIDERM works most of the time as it is anti-inflammatory, anti-bacterial, n anti-fungal.(quad = 4, but the 4th item is not listed.)

MYDA-B is definitely great. It works almost overnight.

Buy the small version first to determine what works, then go for the 15G version -cheaper per gram. Both are keepers for eventualities, etc.

IMPORTANT: Following each time you bathe, and you do have to bathe, spray on 3% Hydrogen Peroxide: keep the brown bottle it comes in to reduce effects of light, and add a spray nozzle. Great stuff, have not had an instance in 15 years since using this.

Change your gotch r-e-g-u-l-a-r-l-y, initially even 2-3 times daily, wash separately with chlorine added, and after rinsing well, soak overnight in a container of water containing a healthy sprinkling of chlorine (haiter). Dry before re-wearing.

DO NOT use these sweet-smelling clothes-softeners in your rinse EVER. But a little, repeat little, chlorine added and stirred to your detergent wash before adding your regular clothes keeps them hygenic and smelling goot all day. Keep your gotch and socks out of the regular.
Lightly spray the inside of all footwear with 3% H2O2 , regularly. How often is regularly - use the sniff test.

As mentioned above keep away from fragrant body powders too, use plain J&J (or whatever) corn starch.

If all else fails bring a sample of your house water to the local whatever to check for bacteria. Many home water piping passes thru an underground maze of broken or cracked septic containers. The water pipes if cracked suck/vacuum in moisture from their surround. Not nice. I know, I know, some authorities say you can drink it: helloh?.

Consider purchasing a whole-home filtration system, not the kitchen tap thing, with the 3 additives. Available at your local hardware.

    Good Luck

Not that I have ever suffered from any fungus growth myself. But I have heard that a liberal squirt of lighter fuel followed by ignition can cure the pain of jock rash very quickly.

The pain from the second and third degree burns may take a while to dissipate!
