You will want to stay in a hotel for a night, as Albert says you can smoke your whole house out yourself

I had serious termites back in 2005, the landlord put me in a hotel for 3 nights as the house was sprayed, and the chemical fumes would have made me ill.

Didn't help that the house had wood panelling all over, with fitted bedrooms, kitchen etc etc all wood

    ants and termites.

I don't really want to have to move out. I've also got 4 dogs so I am looking for a pet friendly option.

Pour syrup on the termites, the ants should eat them then, then with a small paintbrush dab every ant with pedigree chum.

    Jobs a goodun

Had a terrible termite infestation problem and it happen in my 8th floor condo! I don't live there often and had a cruel shock. Spray will not do as the termites just move to evade the spray. I hope you don't have the wing termites swarming around your lights after rain. Then you really have a colony and that will take extra efforts. For me, I have to rip off all the wooden flooring, change the wooden door frames and got rid of my particle board kitchen cabinet. In the end, I just sold the condo as termites still appear in places I less expect. Good luck.

They all live in colonies, some small and some large. Typically you have several colonies in one home. I used to scoff at Thai architecture using stuff like iron sheets for roof structures, but not anymore. Everything made of wood will inevitably be destroyed by them. I even had them in them foam of scooter seat during the wet season, but seems the drought now has dispelled them. I asked the TGF to go round and spray all wooden parts of the home twice per month with some kind of DDT, to no avail. This week alone, a window cross came off, and a door fell from the frame because the bugs had eaten all the wood around the 3 hinges. Expensive repairs every time. Next time, plastic, steel, glass. Eat that, termites.
