Exactly!! Unfortunately your observation will be so far over some heads.......
i think the strong feelings are towards the drivers who are attracted to drive them rather than the SUV's?

Think revenue collection cameras are most places in urban areas in the UK these days. Couple with 20mph speed linmits they are taking the piss.

However if you hit someone at 20mph they almost certainly will not die. If you hit someone at 40mph they almost certainly will die so maybe not a bad idea overall.
Or people could just stop walking in the fucking road!!

^^I had a Tenner bet with myself that your next post would be about children. Easy money.

If your kid isn't capable of crossing the road safely then you are failing as a parent if you allow them to be in a position where they are crossing the road on their own. Not the motorists fault if a kid walks out in front if him.

Congratz on the tenner. Hope you are able to collect.

All true but that hardly changes anything now does it?

    40mph

'Sorry Mrs bloggs I killed your kid but it is your fault for not teaching him how to cross the road so fuck off and buy a coffin.'

    20mph

'Sorry Mrs Bloggs. I injured your kid but it is your fault for not teaching him how to cross the road.' He's lucky to be alive. Now fuck off and pay for the dent in my bonnet.'

    which sounds better to you?

Fuck knows mate. Makes more sense your way but I remember being taught it the other way. Perhaps I was taught by a yank.

    Nah, I decided to welch.

Obviously what you're saying makes sense but it doesn't stop it being part of the whole dumbing down of society and the blame game. "I don't need to teach my kid to cross the road because if someone knocks him over it will be their fault and I will be able to sue them"

Society is constantly trying to make it easier for people to be stupid and not take responsibility for their actions.

@SpiceyMartin.... Dont know what you mean by attitude. You have a car in Thailand and drive regularly, about 40,000 k's a year? Didn't think so, I rest my case too. But you are welcome to lay, walk, drive or ride in front of my car. You obviously have no idea about driving in Thailand.

I can't even count the times I wanted to give somebody way, they just don't get it, Thais either "take their way" and just do whatever they think is the most easiest solution. Or wait, wait, wait and wait.

Ever driven on a two lane road, at about 120k's, when a big truck or bus overtakes and just flashes it's lights to you, meaning, get off the road, into the dirt because I am overtaking?

I also presume you have been to a Thai motor vehicle centre where Thai get either their car or motocycle license? If you have been there, you know why Thai can't drive.

I drive a 4X4 Hilux 4 door automatic pick up, yes like an SUV but without the roof! Love my car! I rate my car 1.5 on the Alitongkat list.

You just keep on riding your moped, don't forget your helmet.
If everything seems under control, you're not going fast enough.

Like most dumb things, farang driving stupidly here is a case of checking their brains at the airport when they arrive, 'it's Thailand innit? That's how they all drive' and these scum do it even worse than the worst of the Thai.

on accidents involving foreigners, Ill give two first hand examples:
The Eastern entrance to Foodland from Pattaya Klang. A SUV waiting in the
left lane , pointing West , to make a right turn into Foodland parking lot.
This driver starts his turn across the right lane , next to parking lot,
directly into the path of three Thais on motorbikes. These three had to swerve
and break heavily to avoid collision. The second example this morning was with a car in the same position. This driver turned right into a motorbike driven by a Thai
and it was within inches of direct hit. I spoke to both drivers afterward and
the first driver said that ' you have to drive like that here'. The second driver acted
like he did not understand English.
The relationship between Thais and foreigners in Pattaya is bad enough
already. A tragic accident where a foreigner crashes into a motorbike
driven by a Thai is going to make things all the worse.
So do you actually give a crap about 3 Pattaya Thais on motos? For sure they could care less about you. After spending considerable time in Pattaya respect for Thais is nill.

Done all of the above old son, since 1988 driving a Merc saloon in Bkk to pick-up's all over Chonburi and large capacity motorcycles in every province bar 3.
What I was referring to was your attitude as a supposedly better educated driver from a civilised country where we are taught tolerance...... "if you get in my way I'm going through you and will kill you!" I'm no religious nutter but God help you with such a dreadful attitude toward being prepared to kill a fellow human being through a simple thing like driving from A to B.

Or....... maybe you butch Aussies don't understand all this! Have a nice one.

No I hate these Thai guys on motorbikes when they are driving recklessly which is most of the time. Like on the beach walk and sidewalks. Especially all these jerk mototaxi drivers this town would be so much better without. In fact the best I can do is ignore all Thai males.
But I was trying to compartmentalize this post to reckless driving by foreigners.

I have both a bike and a fortuna sized pickup, when Iam on the bike I hate car/suvs/pick ups cause of the rude cunts driving them, I always get a giggle outta dragging the handle bars up the sides of em leaving nice scratches.

When in the pickup I hate bikes cause the little cock suckers putting handle bar dents and scratches in my lovely black paint.

    lol true that !!
The one on baht sold is the The SR500 ? too rich for me iam afraid at 300k.

Only ridden mine once, it handled terribly so as iam in Indo for a few weeks I told the bike mechanic dude at work to throw on some 17" rims and road rubber.

Still shitloads more to do before its "mine" but the wheels and the black on the hubs/forks/side covers is a start I guess.
