From what I have heard internet is slow and intermittent in Vientianne and practically non existant else where.

When I was reading up on Laos destinations I found that many hotels didn't even have a phone number

Laos authorities have laws against thier women being banged by foreigners.
Judging by the look of some of them these laws are pointless.
