    Party Time...at last!

We will be having a party on january 19th, from 5pm onwards, out at our new house in Mai Rim

That is 20minutes out of Chiang Mai, for those who are not too familiar with the area

FriscoFrankie will be porking a piggy, direct from DrBobs farm. There will be lots of other food, and music too

bring some drink, whatever you like, and amything else you cannot do without.

FF will give you a link later to a map, and there will be an escort service across the ricefields for those that cannot read

so, welcome all, let me know if you can make it
    I have reported your post

will try to make it, but you know how flat and anti social I become when I'm not drinking.

Sadly, I will not be able to make it. Luckily, I have already visited your lovely home. Have a great evening.

We'll make a date the next time I'm up there.

Thank you good sir, very kind.

Not likely I'll be able to make it though to be honest. Mind I would like to catch up for a drink/chat at some stage, barely got a chance to talk to you last time.

Ok FF. maybe the directions can be like this

from CM go to Mai Rim. In the centre of town turn right at the market (opposite the Land Office and Police station). Go down that road until it bends right - there is a temple on the left, turn left there

turn next right, about 30 metres, over the little bridge. Turn left

turn next right after about 35metres, a small concrete road..follow this road into the rice fields. Keep going, fork left where you get a choice, keep going until the road takes a serpentine path (wiggly). You should be able to see the house on the right; turn down the lane just after the next farmhouse on the right. If you get to the big buddha you have gone too far.

we will try to put up balloons to help guide you, it is difficult once it gets dark

you can also call for help, FF is putting up a map with phone number

The name of the Wat is Duang Dee This probably doesn't help as I'm not sure it has a sign in English and I am too lazy to load Thai Fonts and keyboard drivers on my machine

    Checked my schedule, DrA.

Six hours of teaching ending at about 7.45pm, get home for a brush up and collect the Mrs, then 30 mins on the bike to Mae Rim, get lost... by which time all the food will be gone, and everyone else will be checking their watches and yawning.

    (Remember Thanksgiving, Frankie? )

Love to come and have a look in the daytime sometime, though. Have fun!

Havet to invite you over for a quiet evening when you don;t work to make up for that, but what the hell? Happy Thanksgiving

Only the once, back in 2002 - all I remember is a big fuck off square moat with a little city inside and traffic goes one way on the inside and the opposing way on the other side.

And it's cooler and there's a place called the Royal Guest House.

I should take the oppertunity to come back up sometime.
"I'm an outsider by choice, but not truly. It's the unpleasantness of the system that keeps me out. I'd rather be in, in a good system. That's where my discontent comes from: being forced to choose to stay outside.
My advice: Just keep movin' straight ahead. Every now and then you find yourself in a different place."
