    Tell Us About Korat

Are there a lot of farangs living there?

What is there to do there?

Any farang bars, restaurants or businesses?

Can you get what you want there (ie farang food ingredients, good quality building materials and house furnishings)?

What are the cost of rentals and land prices?

Post any pics if you have any.

    Thanks!

There are hundreds of farang in Khorat..... a good number of them resemble Colonel Sanders.

Good night life, plenty of bars..... It's a very cosmopolitan city, so you can find most of the items you need (not all)

Rental and land prices....... no idea.

Fee! Fie! Foe! Fum! I smell the blood of Chiang Mai Noon. Be he 'live, or be he dead, I'll grind his bones to make my bread.

If you're a novice when it comes to driving in Thailand then avoid doing it in Korat.

It seemed quite normal to me. A bit like driving through a PG Tips commercial.

I personally hate the place and the motorcyclists especially. I now prefer Buriram.

Maybe I'll do that before Tsicar comes back in February but I was really wanting to bring him as he hasn't a car. If I come your way before he comes back I'll send for directions.

    I'm in Korat this weekend.

Can anyone recommend a few worthwhile bars to visit?

I looked at the Koratfarang forum, but the only places it seemed to mention were the bar in The Mall and Blue Pavillion (wherever that is).

It depends upon how early I get up. Also, I'm not sure if I'm going by car or bus yet. I'm supposed to be having a meeting on Friday afternoon, then it's play time.

Don't do it Marmers, he's like the Burmuda triangle, people meet up with him for a beer or two and disappear, all they find is a pile of bones.
