    Isaan and its "post offices"

I am trying to verify what I hear from a few fa-rangs up here in the bush, They tell me that the post offices in E-saarn have a dual purpose. You can mail a letter during office hours and that there are working girls hanging about during the closed hours. Something about 300 baht for action. I drove by late at night a couple times and saw girls that looked a little rough around the edges. I just wonder if this true or are these guys pulling my greenhorn!

No, I've been in Thailand most of the last 7 years, and this is the first time I've heard that one. Ironically most of the girls in Pattaya come from Issan, but most of the towns there seem to have few if any venues suitable for foreigners.

Isaan is a big place and what you are asking is a big generalisation. It is certainly nothing that I have seen before but maybe it is different in your town...

I remember seeing a few girls hanging round a post office touting for trade somewhere in Isaan, Surin if I remember correctly.

Yes, I remember seeing that in Surin too, but did not bother to mention it because it was an isolated incident and because it appeared coincidental that it happened by the Post Office. Soi Post Office in Pattaya is a lively spot too, but again so are all the other nearby streets that do not have a post office.

What's the attraction Tex? 300 baht poontang? Definitely go there and get some and then go directly to the doctor's office for a quick STD's check up.

No need to limit your search for brasses to the post office - building sites and farmyards tend to reap a more wholesome dividend..

In general you can pull in a bus stop, 7/11, old peoples home(cowboy) or in ya best mates house if his wife is 300 bt short of a new iPhone...

Post offices mean they know about French letters too...

...but if they are still in EEY ORR-Saaann, the three hundred will give em a leg up to find pastures richer and greener.
Do you know what nemesis means?

Once in Khon Kaen I met some expats who showed me two streets of karaoke bars/brothels, which they called Soi sam loy and Soi haa loy based on the prices charged at each.

Soi sam loy was pretty shit with a couple of ropey bars with very average staff, soi haa loy was pretty sweet-still a bit grotty but cheapish beer and passable friendly lasses.

Point being, these exact same women charge 1000 baht upwards all day long in tourist areas. The extra few hundred baht you pay in a tourist area doesnt mean they're any cleaner than when they're in the boonies getting banged for chump change.

Disagree Khmen. Phuket has its Soi 11 and adjacent Korean/Chinese brothel areas as well.

Believe me the quality is way down in standards from other more establishment orientated places.

The up-scale palaces of ill-repute undergo weekly STD screening, all new employees automatically get HIV tests as well as general health screens. I seriously doubt Soi Sam loy or Haa loi get the same screening.

Ruting on a mat on the floor is simply not enjoyable for most of us, however "cheap is cheap." I remember crawling up hill from a go in Vietnam with bloody knees from an experience on a rice mat to, but it was only memorable from the pain after not during.

500 piasters did the trick then or a box of wash soap and sometimes a pack of Salem cigarettes.

One can cruise the streets of Bangkok after 12:00 and get all the sam loy they want, just don't be choosy or care about your future health. Its a pretty grim scene after hours in Bangkok. Desperation rules the land.

I know the feeling. Waking up thinking 'Did I really do that? in the middle of Lumphini park... Cool.'

No more like on the asphalt in the alley behind Cisco's in Manhattan Beach. That's when I certified that my dick has no limits. Retard will function under any and all circumstances. Again, bloody knees and imbedded asphalt part of the end result. Had to go for a giant super deluxe burrito with re-drilled beans after that one. Amazing the things one picks up in bars.

Haven't been around the nightlife for prolly 8 years or more, but fek me, I just don't believe that.

This is still Thailand. That sounds like a TAT line.
