    Pak Chong

    Good morning everyone!

I was wondering if there were any good recommendations for Pak Chong? My friend just bought a house there and now I'm helping him and his wife moving in etc. I already know places like smoke house, chokchai, and some thai places. Are there any must-go restaurants?
also, is there a decent bar/pub/club (ok club is probably a bit too much to ask for) to hang out at night?
And any recommendations for a good massage?

    help is highly appreciated!

There is a club there - can't remember the name of the place, but I seem to remember a couple of lady boys taking a shine to a certain gentleman who lives in the area. There are a couple of bars on the frontage road, one is run by a lad from Bradford. Sure he'll be able to point you in the right direction.

But a fly on the wall that night would’ve born witness to a large foreign gentleman with a beer stained t-shirt, staggering from female to female making risqué suggestions and time after time being told to ‘fuck off you smelly, fat cnut’. Land of Smiles, my arse! My advanced state of inebriation, however, didn’t go unnoticed by a gaggle of repulsive ladymen who had congregated around a small table near the club’s exit. As my, what I believed to be, perfectly genial chat-up of ‘do you do sucky sucky?’ had been tried and tested on every bitch in the room, I opted to leave whilst my dignity was still intact. But to my disdain I was physically accosted by the men in frocks just as I breached the exit. The usual line of “I go with you” which always sounds more like an order than a request, was being hurled in my direction at an alarming rate. My intoxication levels had now been upgraded to ‘I need fucking food’, so I spurned their advances with a point in the direction of the nearest 7/11 and staggered from their blinkered view. So, my findings, in a nutshell, are that up-country night clubs are for transvestites and lesbians.

Having read that piece from somtam, it might be a good idea to leave Pak Chong asap.

Unless of course you like that sort of thing.

    (Googles "routes to Pak Chong").

well, so far i really like the area! and i guess one could make a bad experience or two... and no, my friends don't have a cat, but they brought a dog, lovely one too!

also took a bike ride around town yesterday, but it's a bit hard to find things when you cannot read thai. I might just hit the town tonight and see whats happening.

If you drove down the frontage road tonight, the bar i'm thinking of is on the right hand side if you're driving towards Khorat. Somtamslap will give more specific instructions if he turns up in here later. I can't remember the name of the place.

Yes, what it lacks in beaches it makes up for in glorious mountain views and exceptionally good weather, especially this time of the year - and the coast is only a couple of hours down the road should you want it.

The Sports Bar has moved to a place just up the road in a place called Nong Sarai, which is a right turn on the last set of traffic lights out opf town heding towards Korat - it can get fairly lively in there and is good for a bit of grub. Just a bit further up the road from the Sports Bar is a German pub/restaurant which the owner, Bernst, has developed around a lake which you can fish in - very peaceful location and very reasonable food too.

There are other little foreign pubs dotted around the city; a German place near Kong Vaccine and Swiss place near the traffic lights at Non Sarai are the ones that spring to mind.

Clubs are located on the main road heading towards Nong Sarai and Korat - Chabba and The Cavaliar Pub are the busiest or at least were when I was going at it hammer and tongs, you know, back in the day. Nowadays I tend to stay in, wait five hours for a pornographic movie to stream with my catastrophically bad internet connection and wank.

You'll soon find however that pubs and clubs are superfluous to your needs, once you discover the delights of the local shop.

well, is there a good rub and tug available? I was more thinking about a proper massage, but open for anything.

    Good grief man,
If you hear the sound of a battered Honda Wave skidding to a rapid halt outside your gaff you better brace yourself (after nailing down anything liftable).

    ^^ LOL..

    Twat!

As far as the rub and tug goes, find the police station which is pretty much in the centre of town and near enough opposite is a soi which is home to the TOT office, continue down past the office and you'll see signage for the massage gaff, which is rather conveniently hidden from public view.

Normal service can be found next to the train station on the left as you're approaching it. Never been in personally but know of a few that have and it's supposed to be worth a visit.

I went to a decent bar there recently called the Sports Bar. Run by a friendly English bloke and his wife. They have Western food, a nice relaxed atmosphere too.

I know this is an old thread. I checked out the rub and tug place suggested and sure enough isn't there anymore if I looked correctly. I'm in Pak Chong for 6 months and would really like to find a happy ending or soapy massage or anything of that nature while I'm here. Would appreciate any up-to-date suggestions. Thanks!

6 months should give you enough time to get familiar with new places that cater for these needs, and you can keep us updated, can't wait to hear about it.
