    Jackpot.

And thats not me speaking shit about them, as I choose to live here, am in a relationship with a Thai and I generally enjoy being here (since I stopped my own business anyway).

To live here and be at ease is a difficult task, it involves forgetting a lot, and accepting things you would never of thought about before.

But once you have that sorted and can eventually see past the anger and frustration you'll find your place hopefully. I feel sorry for the bitter few that hang on to their home countries way of life so tightly that they hate being and living here but are too stubborn to leave.
I think I know what you mean. I have a Thai wife, and have been in Thailand since 2009, kind-of, I'm there for 3 weeks then out for 3 months. Don't know if that qualifies as living there. Haven't been back to the States since I came to Thailand the first time. I don't try to hang on to Americana when I'm there. I do like going to Bourbon Street Restaurant when I'm in Bangkok. So I guess contrary to popular belief, I am human. There are things I miss. I miss hunting elk and bear with my bow. I miss that a lot, but I have no illusions, I've chosen Thailand as my new home, and I like it.

Yes, Take Thailand as it is and add the finishing touches to make it your own by visiting a restaurant that reminds you of home or meeting up in a bar with fellow yanks/brits/aussies etc and watch the sports etc etc etc

Yet some still come to Thailand expecting America (insert country name as appropriate) and bitch when its not.

Anyway we have slightly gone off topic from snakes in bottles

    Or have we......

Doubt if liquor with cobra's in the bottle could be exported to the U.S. But if it could you would not be able to keep them on the shelf. I'll be buying some as soon as I can find it. Might take trip to Laos when I go to Udon Thani. If I can't find any in the Udon area.

Not exactly insects but very similar. I enjoyed two or three small glasses of Lao Khao with a Thai mate just before heading off to swampy.

The bottle was his prize possession and big occassion tipple, no insects just a plant root stuffed in a standard brown bottle, albeit corked and years old according to him.

I can vaguely remember being ushered on to the plane, not pished just away with the fairies after several tannoy anouncements.

Crazy shit and yes I have drunk the standard stuff before and hate it.
    Landlubber.
