Thought I would start a new thread, but keep in the Isaan forum.Have been reading about where the best burger is to be had in Udon Thani. Most are saying TJ's. There are people that believe the problem with the burgers in Thailand is that real U.S. prime beef cannot be purchased in Thailand. Is this true? Some of you know that my wife and I have a cafe/restaurant in Hat Mae Rumpheng. She was getting a lot of request for beef steak. I don't think we have the right grill right now to cook steak properly. Well after I taught her what bullshit means, she said, bullshit, I can cook steak here at the restaurant. Well I said, have at it. We buy a lot of stuff at Makro. I've been with her many times. There is no U.S. beef there. Does anybody know if there are suppliers where U.S. beef can be had? Would it be possible to import U.S. beef stock to Thailand? Ranch them in Thailand. Also, would there be a market for U.S. prime beef in Thailand? The reason I'm asking this is, I'm like a lot of these other guy's that say they haven't had a burger or steak in Thailand that comes close to what we have in the States. I believe, like they do, it's the quality of the beef, or lack of, in Thailand. Probably would cost too much to bring cattle and ranch them in Thailand. It seems though that Thailand hates for anyone to import anything into there country. Any thoughts?
