Why would anyone like to stay in the middle of nowhere even if it is a nice place?
Because they got tired of cold, dark Hamburg.
I stayed there for a night some years back as I was in the area, nice place, but I wouldn't travel to go there, lot of local expats were using it as food was good.
Airporttwo, that's what I wonder, will anyone travel there just to take a holiday specifically in that area or are the guests there anyway as I guess? The attractions in Kranuan are very limited.
^ The owner is English, seemed like a decent sort!
AS I understood it the place started off as something for him to do, unless his situation has changed drasticaly he didn't need to make money from the place...
My comment was directed toward someone else on this thread who says he is in cold Germany...not the owner of Castle! He's definitely not German. Isaan is not your typical "tourist" area to be sure, though there are many things to see and do. It really depends on what interests you. If you're looking for Disneyland or a beach, Khon Kaen is not the place to go. However, if you like exploring Isaan culture, temples, National Parks, fishing, kayaking, zoos, dinosaur fossils etc., there is plenty to see. The people are unusually friendly and the ladies are pretty easy on the eyes, too.
The whole point of being in Isaan is to avoid the tourist scene & congestion/pollution of the big city. For this reason, not only do many people choose to go there, but many ex-pats retire there. You wouldn't find me in Pattaya or BKK unless I had to go there. Each to there own I guess.
"...life down here is just a strange illusion."
There is a place under construction next to Khon Kaen, a place of high end for rich people, not Thai but from all over should be attracted there, people that want to go away from it all for some time...
So not all like to have lots of entertainment stuff around all times.
But i'm still not really convinced it will be a success story out there !
