    Walking the dogs, Issan style

When living in the city or town it's fucking annoying trying to walk the dogs..almost impossible actually, what with packs of soi dogs trying to attack you and Fido on every corner and the heat of the concreted streets unbearable to walk in.

Becomes less of a chore when living in the sticks, a pleasure in fact, which is why my mutts get a decent run twice a day when I'm not working and once if I am..working really tends to fuck things up for everyone..

Give a dog a choice between a slap up feed and a walk in the fields, the food would get a MEH every time..(assuming it's not starving to death on the street, which unfortunately so many are..amazes me how many underfed dogs are living amongst people in the city, walking around with open sores and no hair from constant scratching, a few hundred bt from the people whose houses they loiter about would solve the problem, but they can't be fucked..twat the dog on the way to the temple sort of thing..and the fuckers do do it..)

Anyhow, there are many routes amongst the thousands of acres of farm land out the back of mine..this evening we went for a modest 5 km's (I reckon, at least) on top of a hearty jaunt this morning.

Started off at the back of the Farmhouse (still under construction!!!..nearly finished..put the lights up today..bout fackin time)

Looking back up that path, the farmhouse is in the middle of the shot..

The doggies..ones a pit, the other's a barmy little Thai mongrel, they get on famously..

Down to the end of the little track, we bung a right and move on. You can probably guess the most grown crop round these parts..Custard Apple trees everywhere, perfect soil for it..perfect for dragon fruit too..

Bit further on and we get to a road..the only one out the back for a long long way..

A few Kanoon (Jackfruit?) trees can be found down here..unfortunately, I find both the smell and the taste to be rather fucking offensive..

Down that road for a few hundred mets and we veer left onto another track..love this place, no litter in site..

The doggies lagging behind..I suppose it is their second jaunt of the day and the little fella has normally done a u-turn by now, so fair play..

A bit more walking and we get to moi larnd..

Past all that and we get to a recently ploughed cornfield (which is another very popular crop round here)..dogs love this bit..lots of scrunching under feet..

To ward of the evil corn spirit I assume..

Up the road a bit and we have some more fruit trees in the form of Tammarind..think you can make them out in this pic..

So we take another turn and by this time the little doggy has buggered off..there are occasionally a few big dogs that lurk around on this route..and he's always the first to scarper..

Down through another custard apple plantation until we reach another big opening..

Gotta walk to the trees at the back on the right from here..

Nice! My dogs are jealous and so am I. You're right, It is bloody impossible to walk them in Bangkok, people cross the street to avoid you and there is no pleasure in it. Our garden is big enough that they can get to full speed chasing each other round so they at least get a bit of exercise.

That's as good a exercise then any I think mate..having a couple of dogs that get on together and have a big enough area to get the revs up is the next best thing to a long walk..but the doggies love being out with their owners mooching about...impossible in Bangers unfortunately.

Great innit..although you get Somchai steaming down there in his tractor now and then..but the breed of Somchai's round here seem remarkably indifferent to the white bloke and his dogs and don't stare too much, which is nice..just a normal, run of the mill.."Waddee"..
