    Thomas resort - Udon Thani

I stayed at this place for a couple of night when I went to visit Peterpan. It is situated a little way out of town on the Udon - Sakon Nakon road, not far from the Big C.

The rooms were very clean and fairly big. TV, A/c fridge etc, plus I also got free wifi there. I believe the rooms were 600 Baht a night, but can't find my receipt to confirm this. Does not include breakfast, but this can be bought at 140 baht. Owed by a German who was away at the time, but his under manager, again German, was very welcoming and helpful. Has a small pool, bar and restuarant area. No Leo beer, prices were reasonable.

Website: Udon Thai House - Thomas Resort & Hotel, Udon Thani North East Thailand.

They also supply a free taxi service to town and to Udon Airport

Now the photos: This is the small pool, with a beer garden to the rear

    Poolside relaxers

The bar area with the restuarant off to the right

Walkway to the rooms. Very pleasant with the plants well cared for, also a few caged birds along the way, makes it very pleasant sitting outside the room listening to the whistling of the birds.

    Outside one of the rooms

The obligitory toilet shot. Bad picture on my part as the area seems small, but was in fact roomy. Showers were hot.

Finally a couple of shots of the room. I never seem to remember to take a picture of the room before I have messed it up and these were taken just before we left. Safe on the wall.

    King Size bed, fairly comfortable

I enjoyed my stay there and will certainly use it again when I visit Peterpan again, as long as he can put up with my insane ramblings

    A very friendly place

Nice place, I stayed there for a few weeks upon arrival with my wife and dog.

Best -- they accept lodgers with pets. We had our dog from Japan/US and very few Thai hotels will accept animals. I'm grateful to Thomas -- a good, honest hotelier. Nice place, nice people, nice food.

    Second your recommendation wholeheartedly!

It does look nice. Better than staying in the village with the in-laws.

Stayed here loads of times and can only agree with everything that has been said.
Only fault I can find with the place is every room i have stayed in there had crappy grouting in the bathrooms which also shows up in Props photo up there.
But, if your happy sharing your shower with odd black stuff growing on the tiles then this place is perfect for you

Lets not forget his website, you can be sure of a reply to any e-mail you send him as well so you can save yourself 5 baht on the phone call too.

I used to stay there on my Udon visits, in fact Thomas helped me find the place I live in now.
Only downside is its a few Kilo's out of town, Thomas's food is German style and therefore mostly inedible for most of us, Good pizzas at the Italian place 10 mins walk away.
Reasonable price, usually immaculate ( be super surprised if you could find any moldy grout) Well run but Don't expect any reasonable conversation from your fellow guests, who are in the main German and seemingly rather lacking in social skills and or personality.

^ Wow that looks much better, although I feel that tub is wasted on just two people.
Must visit with a couple of ladies next time.
