If you're willing to go a ways to find really decent maps of Isaan, you're probably have to look carefully within the number of bookstores in BKK {used, private, chain}. Good university libraries might be able to help. Alternatively, you might try the Siam Society, The Royal Geographical Association, or Thai publishing houses in BKK. If your close, look into the avenues at Khon Kaen University. Searching online cartography shit and what's available is pathetic....

    Try here http://maps.msn.com/(wtwurx5543pwnqb2k53vyyr3)/map.aspx

I have a decent map but it is a bit big (2Mb) to post here. Can't resize it 'cos the definition goes. PM me your E-mail if you still need one.

thinknet mapmagic had a cd based map of thailand for 300 baht - nice and detailed and you can switch between Thai and eng.

the iso I made is 132meg so I can't email it.

maybe......but for his purposes of just looking up where various members live in relation to where he is, it works just fine..use it all the time for the same sort of thing, it's interactive and gives multiple views....

Gps units work well in the car. My girlfriend and i use it all the time in the new car in bkk and udon and getting one is like getting your first mobile phone. you can't do without it after.
