Pitstop about 45 km North of Khon Kaen

    Hi to u all......
We all sometimes go on small trips....one of my mates has a restaurant in the the village of Khao Suang Kwang about 45 km's north of Khon Kaen on the road to Udon Thani...well actually not on the Highway, but from the traffic light in the town there is only a 2 min drive at the most......The restaurant is owned by a dane and his wife......They make both danish and thai food there....
So if u are going north or coming back it is a good place to stop and have some good not expensive food
    contact details:

Do a review then, tell is what you had, what it cost, the ambience, what you thought of it. Photoes are especially welcome. Given it's out of the way location, it belongs in the Isaan forum best imo.

    Nice homely looking place.
Pity he has used the same name as one of the best restaurants in Bangkok though.

Now tell us about the food and 25 baht beer with piccies

Well i don't remember the entire menu and the prices, especially not on the beer as i don't drink and drive....
What i had ... Double Cheese Burger 80 Baht (made with beef) french fries 40 baht.....
Furthermore they have danish meatballs , fried fish , pork tenderloin ....and by request he mentioned something about that if people has special wishes that could be worked out as well....not to forget danish coffee, danish "red hotdog"(60 baht),american breakfast.....
About the thai dishes i dont know what they serve i didn't get to that.....
The restaurant was very clean and so was the galley , we were 3 people eating together,we were all 3 served at the same time....not the thai style where one or two would be finished eating before the third person even was served.....
But all in all only a suggestion for those of u riding north or south on road no. 2....In my opinion a much better place to stop than a petrol station......
Out of the way location.....maybe to u guys stuck up down i bkk or pattaya...many people pass by though on their way to or from Nong Khai....also theres quite a few of us living upcountry....
but anyway if u guys in here think that it is spam .......i will remove the postings that i made about this place no problem in that.....just thought i would share a place where i felt very comfortable about visiting, and will stop by again whenever i pass by with some other expat's....I thought that was the whole idea about having communities like this sharing some of good and bad stuff we come acroos here

Norton, beware of men inviting you to give them a call . . . especially when their name is Jack Meoff

Thanks, Claus, for giving us a heads-up about the place

Just a correction to your thread, Jorgen does not serve Thai food only Danish food and a few other ferang foods like fish and chips and burgers.
His beers are priced about 30 baht for a stubby or was the last time I called in some 3 months ago, he stocks the usual chang light, leo etc.
His food is excellent and there are usually one or two ferang around especially if you call in on what has become ''ferang Friday''.
There's a really nice little bar out the back and a small pool if you fancy a dip to cool off.next to the pool Jorgen has had 4 self contained rooms that he hires out so if you are travelling a fair distance and fancy a few providing he has room then you could stay the night .
