Time to hang up the tools.

Reproductive tools that is, the wife and I (she) have decided that I should get the old jollies snipped before I re-create another me.
Going to be in the Si Sa Ket area soon and thought there must be a good hospital in Ubon so was wondering if anyone here could make a recommendation.
Also since I will have to take it easy for a few days perhaps a nice guest house with ground floor accommodation would be handy (don't want to walk back to the village looking like a new gelding).
And if you want to throw in your own experiences with this most delicate of subjects go ahead and toss them in (hopefully there is going to be something to toss)

Well then let her go get it done.
I had a wife once that made that same suggestion and I told her to get it done if she wanted, I just wasn't in a mind to have it done to me, and it worked, she didn't have no more kids, but I did.

BK, have you seen my avatar I'm Scottish ? it's cheaper for the man than the woman and although I'm tempted to say there are other benefits for the man to be clipped it is better I don't, that would express a distrust which I do not have

The snip is a simple operation done under loacal anaesthetic.
You may experience discomfort for a day afterwards especially when you sit down on the wooden or concrete benches so popular here so take a cushion with you when you go out.
A nice side effect is the swelling and you should have a nice purple sausage to show off for a day or two!

Showing off is not my worry, that I can do already it's what I can do later in a week or two is what I worry about....what? are you saying I have to walk around with a donut cushion!!!

So..any recommendations on doctors/hospitals or guest houses or am I to just go out there and submit myself to the first medical that comes available...what if he turns out to a be 1st year student or (maybe better) a veterinarian...by the way I am also looking for dentist...just a cleaning...not looking for a package deal but open for suggestions..the vet is looking like a good option

You'll know if he's a veterinarian as he'll stick his hand (up to the shoulder) up your arse during the examination!

maybe you should PM NR..... good luck with that, my wife had hers done when she gave birth to our second, it was much more convenient, but i guess your right there are certain benefits to getting your own snipped, keep up that frame of mind..

    Hang up the Tools!

I have had it done, and it is a very simple process, done by a doctor. Consider having your wife call the hospital for a recommendation. Look for a doctor that does as his practice.

Now...............just in case you cannot find someone, I have the surgery tools. A large magnifying glass, so that I can find what right thing to cut on. I also have small miniture cutting tools, like a sharp pair of cutting pliers, a fifth of Jameson Irish Whiskey, and of course, you would need to provide the nursing assistant to hold you hand.

    Blessings,
    My son

have you given any serious consideration to somewhere other than Ubon? like make a couple day trip to bangers, patters or phuket or something where there are good international hospitals? and the recovery might be more enjoyable and relaxing..

That's what i would do if it were my family jewels. as routine as it may be it is still surgery if only minor and complications such as infection are still a real possibility with far more serious potential consequences should it happen without proper follow up..

Thank you gentlemen for your concern about my family jewels...BKK, Pattaya nor Phuket are in my vision, we are heading straight to East Issan for the big farewell party after my wife's visa appointment at the USA Embassy in Bangkok (3 years to get there) there is a private hospital in Ubon but the website is in Thai..I don't read and my wife don't internet..I cannot believe there is not one person here on TD that lives in Ubon who can help me out....if push comes to two half bricks then that's what I will take because I aint paying $8,000 here in California

Just get yourself a couple of those mini series dvd's and a few bags of frozen peas. The snip takes a few minutes, just make sure you make it to a nice comfy chair before the jab wears off. Feet up in the air for a day or so with the frozen peas soothing the area. Next thing you know you'll be riding the motorcy into town without a care in the world.
