I really enjoyed that.
Great thread, BH.
Let's have more! I've got a few left to post but I'd enjoy seeing more other views....
Sounds like you come from my way Happyman, I'm from Wednesfield originally, living in the Peak District now though.Originally Posted by Happyman

Yum!

Is this the same leaf that is used for BBq chicken in Malasia? If you've not tried it ti makes a wonderful snack. Chicken (bite sized) is wrapped in Pandanus(?) leaf then marinated in a sauce similar to that used for standard BBq. Good stuff!

Did you REALLY expect I would pass on this???????
Quit that flocking place! You would be surprised at the opportunities for the shit your trying to do in that dump!
Been telling ya for years your wasting your time and energy in that hole. There's a whole world of Thailand your missing and even the worst parts are better than where your at.

For crying out loud at least check it out!

EDIT: And don't come back with the crap about feeding the critters etc. LAME LAME

Yes. Pic taken from my back porch. Feed em steroids. Just joking. I make sure they get proper feed rather than just the near to zero stuff they can find by just grazing.Originally Posted by buad hai

For Happyman :curmudgeon: Almost took the words outta my mouth. Feed the birds to the cats and release the cats in the soi so the dogs have something to do.

BH another great thread. Now you've got me to the point where I gotta go look at all the Issarn pix instead of just the Ban Chiang folder...

This pond at Wat La Lom Po is fed by the Lam Takhong River.
One of several Mun River tributaries around Ubon Ratchathani. You can hire the floating shacks for a small fee and drink, eat, sleep, karaoke or fish- whatever takes your fancy.
One of several dry season 'beaches'. Quite close to here is a place that has become popular as an evening Promenading and courting spot for Ubonite's during dry season. Plenty of Hawkers selling stuff, and people wandering about.
The Mun River. Wouldn't mind hiring one of those shacks next visit, drinking beer and trying some fishing. Some big fish in the Mun, but the Locals mainly use nets.
The Mun is the biggest River after the Mekhong in Thailand- it runs into the Mekhong at Khong Chiam about forty km's downstream. A fair amount of river trade goes along it.

I love the river. Great shots.
This photo of the Mekhong was taken at Khon Chiam. The Mun river joins the Mekhong just off to the left.
