Just got back from LOS and a visit to our land outside Nong Khai. The flower growers currently renting it until we build informed that the back section, which borders a levy, temporarily flooded up to about ankle deep because 1) the dams broke in China from the earthquake and raised the Mekong and 2) there were harder than usual rains last year. That would mean about 1.5 to 2 meters above normal. Most of our plot is roughly 2 meters below the road. According to trusted relatives who have been there for generations, flooding like this has not happened in anyone's memory, but maybe they haven't been looking that close. Anyone in TD in that territory have any other infomation.
Much appreciated.
