Loy Krathong- Where will you be?

Loey Krathong- Where will you be? My relatives will go to the Rajamangkala University of Technology. This is where my brother-in-law studies. They have contests between the students on which krathong will win. They have a lake there to show off the displays. Wifey took 1st place in krathong contests in the years past but alas her krathong days are on hold while we live in the States. Just wishing every BM a happy Krathong day!

    Thank you.

I'll be braving the chaos at the riverside in Chiangmai.

bloody hell CMN, we went there a couple of years ago, near Narrawat bridge

The local lads were firing rockets at each other across the river; most didn't make it but one smashed into the concrete wall behind us just as we were putting our kratong in the river. Scary stuff, hardly engenders the peace and beauty of the festival. We will not go there again as we like to have two eyes each for later.

Now we have our own pond, we will use that but this year I cannot be there anyway. Sad really, it is my fav festival.
    I have reported your post

Staying in teh MooBaan this year the chaos of the river scene is fun but, as DrA noted detracts from the elegance of the celebration. Everyone is out on the street decorating the gates to their home/compound. There are some fireworks but not at all like The river downtown.

Touching. Sounds like she is not fully ex yet! Go out to the nearest klong or pond and maybe you'll bump into a new gf.

I did it with my friends last night around Tah Phra Jun, Thamasart University at 2am. We were 8 people and used only one Krathong, fantastic and lovely memory.

Anyway, tonight I don't bother, just going out with someone, we are going to have Japanese food to celebrate Loy Krathong.

Thais from miles around descend upon the klong at the end of my soi. to watch fireworks, eat great food, avoid a "Miss Rangsit" competition and sing karaoke songs.

If the katoey wins Miss Rangsit I'll barf.
