English Teacher needed in Loei, conversational English

A school near Loei, Thailand is in urgent need of an American or "farang" to teach conversational English to Thai students ages 12-17. This school overlooks beautiful mountains and students/ teachers board there....the staff is friendly and appreciative.

21 hours a week (Mon-Fri), usually 4 days off at end of month for students to visit their homes, a contract must be signed....25,000 a month plus room and board if needed.

I am a retired American living in Loei and have agreed to help out until a permanent teacher is located. Classes are in session and this term ends in February I believe.

what sort of lifestyle could one reasonably expect on 25,000 a month in Loei?

Expensive if you want to play golf.

The 13km army golf course used to charge falangs DOUBLE for everything. Don't know if they still do as I won't go back to find out.

Kind of like me tho, correct termanology makes the day.

You have an engine in your car, not a motor,, you have a motor on your air con, not an engine.

Engines convert heat energy to mechanical energy, while motors convert electrical energy to mechanical energy.

Nit picking but still true.

For all uses that is correct, but said a lot different in Brit english than western english for sure.

But we hardly ever use seige engines or that sort anymore, unless you come home drunk and find the door locked..

Pity, i wouldn't mind living in Loei, and i would make a great TEFLER, I got the kit, an old worn white shirt with frayed collar, a tie left over from the 80's, some black shoes with the soles worn clean out and socks with holes.
Further qualifications inclde a drinking problem and a thing for girls in little back dresses, I'm perfect for the job.

Hmmmm.... because it is on top of a higher mountain? Hence the kids take 4 days to climb down and go home.
