Apple Reseller at The Mall, Korat

There is a new Apple reseller at The Mall in Korat. It is called iBeat and is on the ground floor near the pizza places. They had a couple of iMacs on display, lots of iPods and plenty of accessories.

I wonder how much of a market there will be?

    IPods are pretty big sellers.
The computers represent fairly good value also for those who are sick and tired of monkeying with Windows security issues.
There are three Apple shops here in Phuket now.

How much does a second-hand iBook go for? When I peruse the laptop shops in Bangkok they want stupid money for a really low spec piece of crap.

^Perhaps if you're going to make this yet another opportunity to bash Apple you can move this in to MKP where we can all safely ignore it.

^ Err, I was just wondering if Apples are better value second-hand than PCs, as PC notebooks seem to be way over-priced on the second-hand market here.

Don't get your knickers in a twist mate, or I won't introduce you to Luscious Lek tomorrow night.

I think the best plan would be to have an afternoon nap then get up when I finish work. Then we can go out and get in to trouble before you fly out.

i haven't seen to many second hand ibooks for sale here marmers. last time i did spot one was in panthip and they wanted 25k!!!??? for it....an old model too. you'd be better just forking out the dosh on a new one imo as most mac users hang on to theirs 'til it's completely outdated (due to the stoic reliability of macs)

Even on e-bay in the USA used Mac laptops are bringing stupid prices.
I like ibooks because new they were a good value. They are remarkably tough laptops. But for a used one there are too many other variables to justify paying stupid prices.

Though not really cheap the best Apple value in the laptop dept. is the new white Macbook.

I just got one (while back in the USA) to replace my 5 year old Powerbook which still works fine.(And I prefer the size of the old powerbook)

What is slick about the new Macbook is the pentium processor which allows you to partition your drive and you can run Windows in a native environment. It's like having two computers.

It seems that most secondhand things keep their value in Thailand, that goes for cars, electric goods as well as computers

    don't know why
