Where are the farang watering holes near Sisaket

Looking to relocate to the Sisaket, Buriam, Surin area of Isaan as the Mrs. has family in all three. I am looking for a nice friendly place to hoist a few beers. Any good farang bars out that way? Thanks in advance and see you for a chug chug chug!

What kind of place is it? Do they have pork pies and like food? Are the prices reasonable? Would the wifey enjoy the company? Thanks. I will check it out this weekend!

Well, I made it to the farang commecion in Surin and I have to say that I was quite disapointed. The WC was filthy, the food was not good, and the owner was quite the arse! What an arrogant bastard! He acted if he was doing me a favor by allowing me in his pub! Any other suggestions?

    Cheers

    Likewise.
Both I and the misssus have enjoyed both Thai and farang food there.
Staff can be lazy but the owner seems OK.

It seems the farang connection is closing. The owner posted on another forum that 15000 people would be sad and 20 would be happy. I did not know he had 15000 customers. Is there that many farangs in Surin??? I will miss the store he has there and his burgers, even though the fat bastid is a twat somtimes.

Was he nicer before he went back to being a pisshead? All he does is drink and spew insults at his customers. I think he has been drinking up his profits. Does he really have 15000 customers in little old Surin?

Farang connection not exactly nice neat place, agree with that, went once, is enough, next time, new explorations...

The position is a good choice, at the bus station, any newcommer will spot the place...

There is a place somewhere beetween Buriram and Surin, a chap from Belgium is running it, i heard it's ok, food good and cheap, meeting point for guys around...

Will try to ask directions, it is some kms out of the main road...

I think it's people who have signed in the guest-book over a 10 year period.

Similar to another loudmouthed pisshead that runs a bar up here, always off his face, screws his staff, abuses customers and then wonders why his wife clears off.

Owning a bar has never been one of my ambitions Dalts, couldn't stand some of the arse holes that would be the patrons.
Like Rig myself and Bigman were having a quiet beer in KK.
A loud mouth Manc starts annoying everyone, the boss asked him to keep it down, then he comes over and wants to pick a fight with the boss who was a nice guy and twice the age of the Manc.

Couldn't put up with those sort of arseholes

I never found anywhere in all my travels up there. There was a good German place to eat, but the owner died and, though his wife tried to keep it up, it never worked very well after. Probably long since closed. Best bet would probably be somewhere in Ubon.

In Ubon you've got a couple of farang bars- The Wrong Way cafe, run by an American/ Thai couple, and N'Joy bar- run by an Aussie/Thai couple. I've only been to NJoy- it's a pleasant bar and Louis is an affable bloke, VN vet. I tried to go to Wrong Way twice but, closed on Sundays, then didn't open until 2pm. It's said to have decent falang food though.

Sisaket is linked to Ubon by a surprisingly good highway so it's your nearest bet. Also a very highly rated Coyote Bar there- Cerise, said to be full of Stunners.

Heres a link to expat Ubon- http://www.weloveubon.com/

That is so funny. It sahows just what kind of guy you are. The owner, Martin I think, is one of those diamonds that you meet in life that treats people exactly how he is treated. I am from Sweden, and not supposed to have a sense of humour, but his humour is fantastic.

I know a little bit behind, but I have just joined and I was browsing through when I found it. Funny that, Carlos says the place was dirty, food terrible and he won't go back, yet in his next post he says if it's closing he'll miss the place. Obviously a split ear( i think two faced in English)

I've got a house in Ubon, and have been quite curious to see if theres farang life in Sisaket- it would seem theres more than I thought.
Any information on how to find these places appreciated- I'll be up there next month.
