    map

'Tilac' lives in Nong Bua Lamphu area with an address of:

    Na-mafeung Sub-district
    Muang District
    Nhong-bualumphu Province
    39000

I am unable to fins even Muang District on a map. As I intend to visit at that location, I need a road map of the area with as much detail as possible. I cannot find a suitable map online anywhere. Can anyone help with the approximate location of this place? Further, anyone know where I can download a decent map showing it?

How come your 'Tilac' isn't giving you directions?

Muang is the city district. So it's in or near to the city of Nong Bua Lamphu.

She could be living in one of 10 villages that fall in the Na Mafueang subdistrict area.

You could also use the postcode tool.....

    Na Mafueang/

...but you won't get any more info than MD managed.

Communication problems! I have no Thai and her English is very limited. It is getting frustrating trying to get directions which I can understand.

Don't worry mate, they all speak Laos up there.

Would this be a meet and greet the parents kind of experience?

How did you guess? I particularly want to arrive unannounced so will need to find a local taxi driver who can actually understand me. We have been together for quite a few years but, as in so many cases, there is always that possibility of a Thai boyfriend lurking, hence I intend to arrive without warning.

Possibly a bit late, as usual, but .. .

Take copy of your, downloaded, map - show to driver. When you get there, ask him to wait until you are sure.
Get a good pronunciation of the village, and family surname, if you can.
Gift for Mother need no further explanation.
Be prepared to feed many people, but draw the line at half the village.
    Best of luck!
