    A question on connections?

Gentlemen, I have after many years of trying finally moved to the North East, never did find a house we liked in KK, but found what we wanted in Udon, seems a much pleasanter and happening place as was stated by others.

Now I need a internet connection! TOT is out of the question, they need 5 houses and at this time where we are we are alone.
Have a aircard the first 5gig is acceptable then just slows to a crawl, is there any other options? heard rumours about having a mast erected in the garden, I have become dependent on torrent downloads for my viewing pleasure so missing my connection

You can get a one meg link via satellite on the ipstar service.
Tot is a reseller of this. Bit pricey.

The other option is a broadcast wifi service also sold by tot and cat called WiNet on the tot plan.
This is line of sight wifi broadcast from a tower in your area.
Check with cat and tot if its available, cat all it MyNet or HiNet or something...
If there is no tower near you 10kms range or so, they will put one in if you get enough subscribers.

Will take a look at the ipstar service

The wifi I'm talking about isn't USB stick wifi, it's what you mentioned.
It's still wifi, but you need a big antenna to receive it.
Check with tot and cat if they have a tower near you.

We definitely have a tower close by, less than a kilometre, it's the only landmark we have! I have to go away in the morning so will have to wait until I get back unless I can get wife to sort it out while I'm away.
    Cheers

Eventually got kitted out, Thais are not the best salespeople!
Anyway AIS Airnet is what I have, works most of the time at speeds slower than what they advertise so pretty much as expected, lot better than what we had!

I am just out of Udon (30 mins) and use True From CAT it is not fast but for a "dongle" I dont have any problems , But I do not need speed or download a lot of stuff so I will throw that in as an option.
