    Issan

Hey all...brand new to this forum and just wanted to stop by and introduce myself.

My name is Andrew and spend about 4 months a year in Thailand in between time off from my studies at university. Primarily based in Ubon Ratchathani and wondering if there were any other falangs based there as well - haven't seen too many around town...

Don't really spend too much time there. Last year, my charity had a base in Warin donating English books to schools there - so bouncing around to all of the schools in that part of Ubon. Live right by the airport in the city. Will spend over two months in that area donating books again this year as well as teaching for at least a month at one of the schools.

Ooo sorry didn't see the last bit. Yes, you take Chayangkul Rd. (the major one with Tesco, Big C, Polytechnic, etc. on it), go south, and it changes to Auparct Rd. and then once over the bridge, you are in Warin Chamrap.

There is an expat hangout in Ubon called the Wrong Way Cafe', near the centre of Town. It's owned by an American guy and his Thai wife.
    Wrong Way Cafe

I'll be heading to Ubon in about a month to six weeks- if you're still around will be happy to meet you and any other BM's there for a beer.
There's usually a handful of expats hanging around the nightclub in the square next to the Nevada Grand also, later at night.

Wow, tell you the truth, never heard of seen the place before. After taking a look at the map, I basically drive by it on a daily basis while in Ubon. I lived down the block even! Have to make a visit next time I am in town.

I will be in Ubon from about 25 June for three months - but going back and forth from Bangkok. If you're still around, by all means shoot me a PM and would be more than happy to have a couple beers. Last time I was at The Rock (Nevada Disco) - only farang there! One of my favorite reasons being in Ubon - the glares and stares you get!
