Staff shortage at Khon Kaen immigration

Just a heads up that Khon Kaen immigration have a serve staff shortage. The 3 male staff that work at the front desks have left for more 'TEA MONEY' at the borders of Surin and 2 other places, that leaves the young lady that sits on the far side of the room and the director.
I was talking to the lady (Jeab) today and was saying that the director is also looking for a transfer as well, mainly due to the fact that there aren't many big farlang owned businesses here and the lack of 'TEA MONEY' that they generate .
So if you need to use the Khon Kaen immigration i would suggest that you arrive at 8.30am when the doors open and the staff are still in a semi-decent mood and won't have to later.

    Cheers

    TSS

Why would farang owned businesses generate tea money for immigration. Hear these stories all the time, been here 10 years and have yet to met one person who bought an extension of stay that they did not qualify for. Jim

Because the people in KK immigration are corrupt and do their hardest to find any small detail that they can use against you to derail your particular application etc. This gives them the opportunity to then extort bribes.
    They're pretty good at it.

Is this fact or simply your assumption?
Quite a number of the members posting on the local Surin forum did indicate at recently that they were quite happy paying a "tip" for service.
I had never come across this myself at other immigration offices I have used

^^ Straight from her mouth. My wife got a call from her asking if her company would like to donate money for a new computer desk and chair, what could they say?
So 7000 baht later the immigration office has a lovely new wooden computer desk and 2 wooden chairs to go with it, you will see it next to the fridge where they are selling drinks etc...

Hey, wait a minute, I got blasted on this forum for giving the immigration staff tea money to get out of that office ASAP. Never happened anywhere I was told, I was a fool... Hear hear, some other place have the same "issues".

And the immigration office at Kapchoeng does not have a staffing problem, just too many people turning up on ANY given day.

Glad too hear I'm not the only one that pays a little extra for real service!
If everything seems under control, you're not going fast enough.

I think their is a big difference between what you said and what is being said here.I was one of the people who called you an idiot for tipping 500 baht to do a free 90 day report. In fact you was paying to queue jump ( BTW ..if I was in the Immigration Office and you tried that on whist I in there waiting I would be the first to say " Mate...wait your fooking turn !!!)
Once I forgot to get my yearly stamp 30 days after I applied for my one year marriage extension .When I went back to do my 90 day report I was in-fact on a 60 day overstay. After a chat I was told to wait until the Office was quiet ,1000 baht later and my passport was stamp up with all the right stamps and the paperwork amended.I think no-one minds paying when they have fooked up and the Immigration Office helps them out for a small fee
I think the local Immagration Officers are hearing the sort of money some Officers are making in places like Pattaya,Phuket,Koh Samui and Border-crossing and they are wanting some of the action!!.

@Baloa hahahahahahahaaha I would just laugh at you, and so would the immigration officer. You don't pay, you just wait! the "turn" that the immigration official gives to you, no matter what your fvcking number says!

You just blah blah blah Baloa, money talks in Thailand, patiently waiting your turn.... doesn't.

But hey, love to meet you at the immigration office and hear you say "Mate wait your fvcking turn". I (and most likely the Immigration officer) would laugh out loud! I would walk out the door which all the stamps and staples, you would still be sitting there....

Have to laugh, almost wet myself!

On the other hand, what is your problem with me? I can't post anything or you try to troll it. Get a life Baloa and if you live in Thailand, just go with the flow, that means paying some official every now and then. It's not gonna break the bank (mine for sure!). Live and let live.

It would not matter how many Thai bodies they propped up to work at immigration, it would still be a mess.

If that lady was nice enough to tell you what is happening, maybe you should not have named her and put her job at risk? Anyone can access these posts.

If only the policies were consistent and universal from one office to the next.
    The issues would soon disappear.
