I am looking for any contact info for a ride to Roi Et from Bangkok. Minibus/van or taxi, etc. Happy New Year!

I think a Taxi is around 4000 baht to Roi Et. Most Bangkok Taxi drivers Ive spoke to all come from Roi Et, hopefully you can haggle one down who wants to go back for the New Year

    Nakon Chai Air - NCA

the best bus operator - the only reason not to consider them is you have to go to the bus station in a major town

Fucking hate Mo CHIT along with all bus stations!

Used the bus many times, but rare to get one who,s driver is not a fucking speeding lunatic, talk about put the shits up yeh!

Most Taxi drivers are just the same, was in one a few years back who parked up the arse of a van.

Motor bike taxis, don,t even get me started gave them up a long time ago.

In Thailand unless you have your own transport, then your pretty much fucked for safe travel.

    Others will differ!

Yup gotta agree on that one ,, had many journeys over the years outta Morchitt to Issan ( days ) infact I was well impressed with the steady standard of the driving + the free cold drinks + cakes , only thing is not being Thai , I was unable to sleep like eveyone else on the bus as the vcd played through the 3 million watt sound system
I'm proud of my 38" waist , also proud I have never done drugs

Buses are the best - sit in the middle.
In the event of a crash you most likely will be able to walk off the bus, past the mangled vehicles underneath it and get to 7 for a cup of mama.

Whatever you do, don't take one of those minivans driven by a crackhead that turn to dust on impact.

Nakhon Phanom or Sakhon Nakhon to Chiang Mai

    Don't want hijack the thread.

Anyone know of another expat did the 800+ km starting out on Hwy 223 westbound

Bus or a ฿4000 quad cab pick up for wife, two cats and select furniture.

    TIA

Yeah I know it's a game map but it is easier on the eyes (too old here) than the wiki page:

    Ok. You're wrong.

Dave, don't be such a clown.

Trains to Roi Et are quite available.

Though, I believe I would take Baldrick's suggestion and go Nachon Chai Air coaches. Very comfortable.

Possibly if you find one of the thousands of Roiet taxi drivers keen to go home for a visit.

You can book one here for 6,800 one way.

Market priced. Nobody wants to go to Surin except during the elephant festival.
