RIP. I know little of the man, but as the pioneer of creating a hybrid that both produced good beef, and from a cattle able to survive here in the tropics, his contribution to Thailand is both tangible and ongoing. This country hands out gongs like 'the Order of the White Elephant' willy nilly, and if he was not the recipient of one, something amiss. Perhaps posthumously.

RIP. He is the sort of farang that we actually need in Thailand. It might even change the way the majority view us.

I made the OP not knowing anything about the man. Was hoping someone on TD knew him and had stories to contribute. I've found nothing about him (except the story of his passing) on the internet. It is a shame that no one is able to properly eulogize him after his long-time (apparently actually 32 year) contribution to this country.
