Getting your car customized in Thailand

This car customising place is in Rayong, head out of Rayong towards Chanthaburi and you can't miss it, it's called Blues Aeropart Project Rayong, phone 086 3768306-7.

This car wasn't actually the car I was interested in, but as I have to sort out which pictures to use still for the other car I shall start with this one, the other one had a fantastic paint job that changed colors as you walked round it, bit hard to show that in the pictures so I took loads of them.

Not sure if I like these kind of doors but you could have fun parking right up close to other people in car parks so they can't get into their cars, which is what they do to me with my car the gits, they don't seem to take into consideration how low your car is and how thick your doors maybe, and it aint easy climbing in thru the passenger door and over the console and all that.

Got to admit when I first saw this car I thought the skirts would be ripped off pretty quick, hell I didn't no they had hydrulic lifter thingys.

The sound system inside has about 20 speakers attached to it, sort of spices up your boring everyday toyota don't it.

The hydraulic gear and batteries to lift the car up.

Talk about all show, no go! All that extra weight would seriously tax what is already a pretty asthmatic engine.

This car was really hard to take photos of, as you moved nearer or around it, it changes color, not sure how good these pictures show the colors, but it was red, gold and green depending how you looked at it, no idea how they do this type of spray job.

    ^^

It's pretty interesting, not really my cup of tea though. Those pics you took do a great job of showing it I think.

I'd imagine it's all powered by magic of some kind. Fairies no doubt!

I actually asked one of the workers what color they had it listed as in the registration documents as they are quite strict on listing the color correctly, he didn't know though

My car needs a bit of a blow over as it's getting quite old now, think thats the sort of thing I want done to it, just not those colors though.

Been around for many years probably about 20 years.
I thought it was called Chameleon paint but maybe Flip is the same thing in seppo speak.

You have to spray the car black first and then just a normal coat using chameleon/flip paint and then a clear top coat

Take a look at Xposures paint as well.
It changes colour with temperature. Your whole car will be a different colour at night.

A few more pictures of the special paint job car.

Tinted windows and locked doors make it hard to get a picture, but this car has a sound system in it.

DD, the paint is something like 300 USD a pint.

You might want to try this instead

I've always known it to be called candy, start off black then lots of coats of other colours and a final laquer.
As for a touch-up u can't! not to look decent anyway, the whole car needs to be done again.

Looks quite good, the Nissan cefiro's paintjob, but the thing on the back is very ugly.

There is now a purpose built Drag strip in Bangkok at Rangsit, khlong five, called Bangkok Drag Avenue. They hold events every Saturday 2pm-2am. Lots of cars, noise and burning rubber.
Also, car drifting 1st saturday of the month, behind Seacon Square in Bangkok, another good afternoon out if you like fast cars.

    MysticCobra.net - Ward's AutoWorld Article

Interesting site, if not a bit old. Didn't know green is the most popular car color.

"What's so dramatically different about the mystic paint is that it contains no pigments. Instead, it uses tiny transparent flakes that are layered and act like prisms that break up white light into its various colored components. Through precise changes in the thickness of the flakes and their transparent layers - and by adding special reflective coatings to individual layers - any color or iridescent combination of colors can be produced from the same basic paint."

This car doesn't look too bad, also seems to have a stereo system of sorts.

Switches and fans, no idea what the switches are for.

    Digital timer?

You probably wouldn't want this car to be the one picking you up at Bangkok airport as there may not be much room to put your suitcase in it.

Is it built with the speakers on the outside so some fuckwit can "share" his crap taste in music with the world?

He'll have to go bigger than that to compete with the cinema advertising trucks and temple noise.

is "drifting" just sliding the car ?

bitumen is easy , need to get sliding on dirt etc where when you get scared and back off the power the car does not automatically get traction again , you still have to ride the ride.
