They were moaning about the rather large turning circle. Then one monkey suggested to give it a squirt, to whip the back end round. Sorry to say, it was very disappointing in the poke dept. Pathetic in fact, looked like it was simply too heavy to flick it round. Sort of lurched and rocked on it springs.

I'd have taken mine back if it wasn't tail-happy. Rather defeats the point of having rwd.

I would imagine that 347 lb/ft of torque (which is what you would find in a powerful V8) would get the back end moving pretty well if you know how to drive.

The back end pops out easy enough with only 240 lb/ft. The new 3.2 has 347 lb/ft from a 5cyl diesel. Ford Europe has escaped from the 1970s.

I'm actually amazed at what's being done with smaller engines- in the past I would always go for a V8 if it was an option, but now I'm changing my mind.

The traction control will stop it sliding around tight corners. So unless you turn it off, the back end wont be flicking out.

On my Pajaro 3.2 I can get the back end out and that has more weight on the rear I believe. Hold the foot brake with my left gentle and hit the gas, easy.

That could explain it. Or simply put the Thai Monkey can't drive....
I'm sure one of the prospective buyers here will tell us soon enough.

Rather large compared to what? Its the same as the vigo and the dmax, not sure what there is to complain about?

For me, the greatest issue I have with this car is that there is no USB port for a thumb drive, I'm hoping Fondles can sift through the Ford microfishe and see if there are any part numbers that will allow an upgrade to Wildtrak specs (which has USB) without actually changing the main audio head unit.

relaying feedback from the Thai boys driving the 3.2. They thought the Vigo was better.
They been driving the Ranger in circles in the carpark all afternoon. Getting faster and faster, monkeys.....

I drive a Prerunner at the moment, but I'm seriously considering a change to the Ranger XLT 2.2.
I too am disappionted to see no USB port. The other thing that is missing, is the grab handle on the drivers front pillar. Okay, I understand that I'm an old fart, But my Prerunner has one, and it's really useful for getting into the thing.
Do not walk beside me, for I may not lead. Do not walk ahead of me for I may not follow. Just pretty much leave me the fuck alone!

I find the Vigo awkward to get into compared to me older Ranger - the roofline seems lower. The handle makes it worse. I assume you're not 6'2" so it doesn't apply.

Yeah there's not much difference in the turning circle of this class, it sucks across the board, but I think the Vigo is a little tighter.

My 2.2AT Pro has the USB, don't know why as it has bluetooth. And they put the usb in the freakin bottom of the glovebox for some reason. A bit less than practical..

It did with me too. If you look back to somewhere near the start of this thread, I made some posts saying that I would be getting a Ranger, but when I saw one in the flesh I thought it looked plain, same old same old.
Originally I thought the Mazda looked shit, but when I saw one of them in the flesh I thought that it wasn't too bad, and then it just grew on me.

Yes it is, it's ok for those who are sitting inside one but spare a thought for the rest of us.

I'm noticing a lot of orange peel effect on this Ranger I bought, it wasn't as bad as it is now when I took delivery, sigh, I swore years ago I'd never buy another Ford.........

I've just got back from a trip to the Mazda/Ford dealer at Rangsit. As you drive off the main road you have a choice of two showrooms. On the left, Mazda, on the right, Ford. I visited the Ford dealer last month. Getting extras was like getting blood out of a stone. They finally offered a bed liner window tints and underseal if I paid an additional 5000bht. Oh, and I would have to wait 4 months.
Today, I tried Mazda. Before I asked about extras, I was offered Bed liner, underseal, 3m window tints, Road tax + 1yr 1st class insurance, mats, reg no surrounds. Delivery was 2 weeks.
I think I know where I'll be spending my hard earned baht.
