    Thai Beach Buggy

I assume this is a standard buggy kit that has been imported into Thailand, anyway saw this on Sukhumvit Road between Central and North Pattaya, and its for sale

Nice shiny wide wheels, recaro bucket seats, everything a boy racer needs

I think they are motorbike pannier boxes or whatever on the back.

Engine etc all chrome and red paint, shame it's so hot here.

The thing is immaculate, I assume it was built to be sold rather than used, everything looks perfect on it.

There's a guy down neurn plub waan (yeah I know that's not how you spell it) about 100 metres or so on the right down a side street, that refurbs VW campers and beetles for export, I was amazed at the quality of his work, proper panel beating and fabrication, minimum filler and proper paint process. It's only a lean too, but better work than a lot of the bodgers knock out back home, he was exporting to a guy in the UK and showed me pictures of the stuff they'd done, really nice finish on the upholstery and interiors too. So yeah I can understand where your coming from, it's good to see that they can really take an interest and get a quality finish for a change.
Life should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside in a cloud of smoke, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming "Wow! What a Ride!"

Looks good. Wouldn't be allowed near a public road in that in Australia (or any other proper country I imagine)

Could be a Porshe engine, they do autos, got to admit I didn't look that close at the engine as I assumed it was vw, if it is a porshe engine I'm pretty sure i could kill myself quite easily in that thing as it aint gonna stick to the road like a porshe.

Ohhh look, heres another one for you to read, another buggy thats legal on the mean streets of OZ.

Aussieveedubbers - Business Advertisements - Introductory Offer - Manxter 2+2 Kits in Australia ... - Powered by UltimaBB

If you read the thread you will note it does not require a cut down floorpan like the Manx, hence its just a rebodied standard VW beetle.

The issue with manx buggies in OZ is the cut floorpan today its a no no so you will not gain rego on a new build, you can however still register and older one that has been on the road previously.

I had a long wheel base Manx buggies road registered in Perth.
On a wet road corner if going a little quick you go into a spin.
But in the sand there the best, let the tyre pressure down to 3 psi.
Go up the coast fishing great

    It's not an Auto.
The shifter looks like that, I admit. But it's not.
Had a Bettle here 10 years back. Came with the same sift knob.
They are popular for those cars - don't know why.
    It's a manual.

Damn, I missed that, I think you are right.
The rubber boot on the gearstick is the manual type.
