Bugatti today announced that it has reclaimed the crown with the Bugatti Veyron Super Sport, which has been bumped to 1200 bhp and 1106 pound-feet of torque. In two runs, it reached 265.9 mph and 269.8 mph in a Guinness world record attempt. The average came in put at 267.9 mph, a bit higher than the expected 264 mph. The Bugatti team said that near perfect conditions allowed the car to exceed its expectations. The car is still rated at a 0-62 mph acceleration of 2.5 seconds. 0-124 mph now arrives in just 7.3 seconds and 186 mph passes in 15 seconds.
