| Motoring in Thailand and Asia Cars and motorbikes in Thailand and Asia, Where to buy and sell your truck? Where to get fixed and what garage to use. Should I buy a suzuki carry? Will it have a car DVD? Will my travel insurance cover me for driving in Thailand? Or should I just buy a Mercedes or a Honda CRV? Everything to do with motoring and vehicles goes in this section. Do I really need a driving licence in Thailand to drive to Bangkok car hire? |

| 555 I am old. but the Magna a has plenty of punch especially at high RPM's, it's comfortable and the handling is good. It is also a bit lower than the CB but not as bad as the shadow. I did some miles on all three plus a couple of Yamaha's 750XJ and a 400 Dragstar and felt that this bike was more stable and out accelerated all the others in mid range speeds |

| ^ I agree with you it is a bit of a mix but it is a comfortable ride and goes round corners much better than the Steed and the CB. Though in Traffic the CB being a bit smaller is far more practical. I just could not decide on a CB or a Steed and the Magna was a good compromise |

Never ridden a Magna myself but handling and ride's obviously important so you've obviously made a good choice there. Time to get out and enjoy it now!

| ^Unfortunately not. My last one was a VFR400, sold that to CMN actually. Ever since then I've been daydreaming about getting another but have always used my wife as a convenient excuse not to. Truth is I think I've about done my dash as far as bikes go. A combination of some near-misses, actual accidents, and a range of injuries catching up on me from rugby kinda rules it out. Plus my prepared 'over my dead body...' response to my sons when they're old enough to want a bike won't carry as much weight if they've seen me hooning around on one.

| I have ridden the Magna on few occasions. It is a solid bike. Honda reliability for sure. Also it is heavy. Not a problem for cutting dogs in half. Enjoy the ride from Khanchanaburi. Traffic gets hectic the closer to Bkk you get. Which route are you taking into Bkk? |

| Tounguin for a beer. | ^55. Nice bike I looked at getting one myself, good alround. If you are a big guy check if you can adjust the back shocks up a bit stiffer, easy to do, check the tyre pressures, there may be a guide sticker on the swingarm and generally give a good once over before you ride off into the sunset, who knows what has been done to it in the past.

| Steed is popular and easy to get parts for,as isthe CB. You will be able to findCB's XJR's easily. Lots of steeds as well. My mate has a steed that he has put 100,000km onto easily. Loves it to death. I would prefer a CB though, easier to live in my oponion and at least two more riding positions compared to the Steeds one

You need to give it a big service then. Do the gaskets all round on it once you are back.Decent enough an engine, does have tobe taken care of. Heed my advice - replace all the gaskets.

| It’s having a full service that’s why I have to wait until Saturday. I have also asked that the coolant be replaced and a new thermostat fitted. As for the gaskets everything seems tight and good shape. Its only done 7,300KM has all the paperwork and the green book and it cost me 130k |
