I've bought a secondhand motorbike and I am having difficulty finding out the way to transfer it to my name. Apparently the rules have changed since I did it a few years ago. Any one help please asap.

Did it for a mate last week. Seller and Buyer go to the local Transport Office - ID/Passport/WorkPermit, takes about 30 mins. But - if the bike is reg elsewhere, you have to wait a week, to have the reg changed to your location before they will change the ownership details. Cost 300 baht.

I think you need a letter either from immigration or the BE ( if you have a 2300 baht spare ) to prove your address in Thailand other than that just your passport

Nope, a WP will do.

not all of us work

Here in the sticks, a Bank Statement/Utility will do.
Rules will vary at every office.
You need to produce something to prove your address.
WP, immigration form. embassy letter are all accepted

when I bought my truck they only wanted my passport and letter from immigration to prove my address, all done in 20 min
The new rule is that the person selling (if not Thai) also now need to show the proof of address (wp, immigration form, embassy form).
I am thinking of buying an Air Blade for running around town, will a copy of my registry in a Thai Blue house book do??Originally Posted by Thetyim
Sorry but I need the Full procedure. I went all the way out to the Licencing office last week with some forms the seller filled in and they said go to immigration. Was that simply to get my address confirmed. If so wont my house book do?
It's bluddy confusing when they cant tell one in English what they want.
Fedup!
You need those forms the seller filled in
a copy of his tabien baan and I.D
copy of your passport and visa
address confirmation (can be wp, letter from imigration or embassy, or house book with your name in)
Went to Immigration to get a letter stating I lived here. Then went to a Motorcycle shop and gave them 700bht to do everything for me.
It will take three weeks. Phew!
