| Elite Member | KMs New Car Dilemma: Accord or Camry Having been impressed with the level of intelligent input into previous threads relating to the purchase of new vehicles, I thought I might get some feedback here before outlaying the money... I need a decent vehicle for my tours and have narrowed it down to either a Honda Accord or Toyota Camry... First off they both cost about the same amount so that doesn't enter into the equation... How about inside room...especially the ride in the back seat which is where most of my clients sit... Driveability is also a factor so if anyone has any experience with the newest models I would appreciate their insight... Are either available on NGV?... thanks in advance for everyone's help... KM

| Sundance is my bff | The only new Camry I've ridden in was with Marmite when we went to the Korat pissup. Generally, underpowered, but it wasn't the 2.4L model, if I recall. Not very inspiring...but, Toyota is God in Thailand, so resale and all are the best. Accord, havent' driven it, though it looks good, and traditionally, Accords have been more fun to drive than Camrys. If you like driving, go with the Accord. If you're practical, go with the Camry. |

| Elite Member | I have owned both and they are lovely cars IMO. I presently drive a 2007 3 litre Accord and apart from the fuel consumption I have never had any real problems (apart from the air con packing it in twice which was repaired under warranty). I have seriously considered the new Camry as Toyota's service is good and the spare parts are cheaper. Horses for courses but the word on the street is that the Camry is better value for money. Either way you cannot go wrong! |

| I would have a an Accord any day over the Camry although must say that I have no experience with the Thailand spec models. Have an accord in Aust but its a 3L V6 although its a 2004 model and have rented Camry when I am in New Zealand. Both models were made in Thailand but quite different spec to the Thai spec. I just like the Accords driving dynamics, more precise than the Camry |

| Elite Member | Cheers Guys...I'm looking at either Accord 2.4 EL Navi or Camry 2.4 V Navigator...both are top of the 2.4 range... appreciate the comments from those of you who have driven or who own one or other of these... interesting exercise regarding trade in of my '84 civic... Honda offered me 490k...Toyota 470k...and outside of the stated options but Isuzu (Mu7) 550k... Toyota's explanation was that they get 30k to tempt the custie with...you can take it in 'extras' or in increased trade-in...Isuzu get 100k to play with...worth knowing if you're in the market... |

| I dirven both, much of a muchness in my opinion. I do prefer the Accord however, although I'm not sure I can actually explain why. Just an asthetic/feel kinda thing I think. That being said I'm getting a Camry shortly for my work car. Did ask for an Accord but they prefer to maintain a fleet. But hey, free car whatever way you cut it right so I'm not exactly going to complain!
