Touring Thailand on motorcycles

Well we just got back from a ride to Maha Salakham had a really good time. The guys from Salakham big bike were excellent hosts provided us with some good riding and plenty of food and refreshments.
So we started our ride from Khon kean on Saturday with Spin,John,Myself and headed off to Maha salakham.
Arrived at mr Goes shop in Salakram and had a couple of beers and waited for a few more guys to turn up

My bike looking very pretty

A nice ZX 14, The poor guy dropped it on his way to meet us, but was lucky and got away with a few scratches on the paint work

Spins Blackbird with Johns lovely brand new FJR 1300 in the back ground, 770k baht worth

It was then decided we would head out to a temple about 150 klm out from salakham out past Roiet

Here we stopped for a cold drink as we had been pushing along pretty quick and the girls decided they would give their cute little asses a rest and got in the back up vehicle

My bikes the one with the pink handbag on it

With the girls now in the car it was time to have some fun winding up the mountain and a bit of one wheel action

A really sweet road pitty about traffic coming the other way

My friend Mr Chat had a problem with the ground and a corner . Busted the front head light and some small damage to the front gaurd. But didnt suffer any damage to himself which is the main thing

Oh that brings back memories.

Somewhere in a national park. Shit roads huge pot holes and the team decided to rag it off. I think fuck that and keep it steady. Go around a corner to see two bikes - Blackbird and XJR 1300 with flat wheels. Both men looking somewhat sheepish.

Managed to fit them in the back of a truck and had to lug one of the fat cunts with me.

Backup vehicles are always needed in any Thai roadtrip no matter how new the bikes are.

Right then so Spin appears to think he is some sort of racing rider all hunched over like that.

The third bike in FJR it looks like is heading straight on in the corner.

Is that the FJR with the semi automatic gear box?

Edit

Just realised Spins bike is parked up at the side of the road and isn't moving in that photo.

It was time to head back and with the girls now in the car we had a merry old time been hoons. Then one of the GSXRs spat a clutch and Spin lost us while looking for a karoke bar and a cold beer. So we foked around and had to unload the CB1000 and send the vehicle back for it.
So arrived at the next place a little late

The Salakham guys then took us out to someones farm where we started to get pissed and thought it was a good idea to get the bikes back to the hotel, which was excellent for 700 baht a night and was as good if not better than a 3,000 baht hotel in Bangkok

Once back at the Hotel around 24:00 we decided to go out for a few more drinks

This was a really rocking place so we ended up with a bottle od Johnny walker and settled in for a few drinks.

Thay had some good dancers that gave Spin a woody.
This place closed around 0200 so we then went and injoyed a nice feed and a few more JW before heading to bed somewhere between 0300 and 0400

The next morning I got up at the crack of 11:00 am and had to beat on Spins door for a good 15mins before he woke up. His excuse was he was up all night pillow fighting with his girlfriend.
We then headed off to met the Salakham guys again

Where they took us out for lunch along the river

After a few leos. We started to feel better and spin was eyeing off this bird

We then said goodbye to the Salakham bike team and thanked them for a great time and headed home, stoped in at Cheap charles for a few beers and finshed the trip knocking back some cold beers and pizza back at my house. A fitting end to a great a great weekend with a great bunch of people
The whole time we were with these guys they refused to let us pay for a thing.
Their hospitality was second to none and the best I have experinced in Thailand and a really cool bunch of fun loving Thai guys and girls

We have invited the Salakham guys down to Khon kaen on the 5th of july to repay them for their hospitality. We will be starting here in Kk and making our way to the dam. Then over the mountain to my house for the all night party
