The diesel engine was originally invented to run 100% on vegetable oils.
However with diesel at 40 baht per litre and ( my wife tells me) cooking oil at 47 baht I stick to diesel.
Four good sized coconuts will produce one litre of bio fuel I am told.
May try producing my own as coconuts are plentifull where I live and the challenge will be interesting,

The reasdon I had to have a new cylinder head after running my Uk car on LPG was that the valves and guides were totallty burned out. I do believe that someone now markets a kit which supplies extra lubrication for the top end to overcome this problem.

As has been said, usually cooking oil is more expensive per liter than diesel fuel.
Plus the fact that it is thicker than diesel fuel [more viscous] and at cooler temps, a lot more so and then it is harder to atomize at the injectors and would be harder on the fuel pumps and injectors and less economical because of poor burning.
And Bio Diesel is not Petroleum diesel fuel with 10 or 20% veg oil added as Thailand calls their fuel so treated, but Bio-Diesel is Veg oil threated with a process using Lye and Methanol to remove the Glycerin from the oil and the remaining product is Bio-Diesel..and contains no petrol diesel fuel.

I read some were you have to use a 50% diesel to 50% GNV mix after conversion the vehicle can run on 100% diesel also.

There are problems one should consider before converting a vehicle to NGV quite apart from the technical issues.

The range that one tank of NGV will take the vehicle is substantially reduced compared to how far one tank of Gasoline or Diesel will take you.

At the moment NGV is only available at PTT Stations.

A large percentage of Taxis in Bangkok were converted to NGV after PTT put pressure on government institutions to make it mandatory that Taxis should use NGV. This has recently been overturned as a result of protests from Taxi Co-operatives etc., however the numbers of Taxis already converted is high.

The Nett result of the above is that you will see LONG queues of Taxis at PTT Stations all over Bangkok, it can take over an hour to get to the Pump at some times of day. I would imagine it's quite a frustrating and humbling experience sitting in your NGV converted expensive private car in a line of Taxis!
