| Motoring in Thailand and Asia Cars and motorbikes in Thailand and Asia, Where to buy and sell your truck? Where to get fixed and what garage to use. Should I buy a suzuki carry? Will it have a car DVD? Will my travel insurance cover me for driving in Thailand? Or should I just buy a Mercedes or a Honda CRV? Everything to do with motoring and vehicles goes in this section. Do I really need a driving licence in Thailand to drive to Bangkok car hire? |

| Dis-member | I spotted this one in Ranong. In the UK we used to call them Noddy Bikes but the correct name is LE Velo. ![]() The owner claims there are only two in Thailand and frankly I am surprised there are any. From the shape of the platform behind the seat I am guessing that this one is an ex UK police bike. Note the hand gear change, probably late 40's early 50's.

Velocette went on to produce two variants to the LE, the first being the Valiant (a standard tubular frame model), and the later Vogue which had twin headlamps and a fiberglass enveloped frame - a very good looking bike, which unfortunately died before being fully developed. | |

| Tounguin for a beer. | I've been giving the W650 a good fang around the hills the last few days and took the Mrs with me yesterday. Perfect day, perfect road, life is good but as we got close to home the oil light is on! checked the sump sight glass-all good there. WTF? Gave the sender wire a giggle, no difference. Left it for 15 min and tried it, all ok. I'm using some shell stuff marketed for bikes but only 10w40. Could it be too light for a twin? I'm waiting for a mate to get back who sells Royal Purple 20w50 synthetic which is great stuff and change to that. Obviously would love to hear any ideas. Hoping it isn't an oil press problem (doesn't seem possible with a full sump no matter what oil is in it) and just the sender. Light wasn't on fully and flickered a couple of times. I will try it again as soon as it stops pissing down.
