| Motoring in Thailand and Asia Cars and motorbikes in Thailand and Asia, Where to buy and sell your truck? Where to get fixed and what garage to use. Should I buy a suzuki carry? Will it have a car DVD? Will my travel insurance cover me for driving in Thailand? Or should I just buy a Mercedes or a Honda CRV? Everything to do with motoring and vehicles goes in this section. Do I really need a driving licence in Thailand to drive to Bangkok car hire? |

I am doing the first step towards a plate next week. Its not so bad all I have to do is take pictures of my bike and copy the frame and engine number, get a witness (Anan bike shop) to sign to say I built it in Thailand, show the import pappers on the frame and engine and pay 11K baht for the super sammit what ever the fok that is and I should be done

| Just looked at on of those Harleys on Monday at Chang Freeeman's shop and it does look like it's made of plastic. I liked the looks of the V-Rod that was there though. His place is getting bigger all the time. |

| Some great looking bikes in here! I had this until December 23rd of last year, it was a 900 and went pretty fast. I had it up to 240+ a few times (hard to be exact, the speedo and tach needles would start gibbering about all over the place at around 200), ![]() Some bastard in a pick-up side swiped me, f*cker didn't even stop, when I was riding the bike home from the repair shop after a service as I was selling it the next day. The damage was mostly cosmetic and the buyer (a good guy, I think he might be a lurker here) still took it but at less than half the price we had agreed pre-crash. 8 days in Bangkok-Phuket hospital and a bill of well over 200,000 Baht. I was also fined 2,200 Baht by Kathu municipality to replace the the tree I took out on the central reservation. ![]() I had to promise the missus to stick to 4 wheels from then on. I've got a terrible itch to ride again but having seen the anguish she went through I couldn't do that to her again. Stay safe guys, keep 'em sticky side down.
