Motoring in Thailand and Asia Cars and motorbikes in Thailand and Asia, Where to buy and sell your truck? Where to get fixed and what garage to use. Should I buy a suzuki carry? Will it have a car DVD? Will my travel insurance cover me for driving in Thailand? Or should I just buy a Mercedes or a Honda CRV? Everything to do with motoring and vehicles goes in this section. Do I really need a driving licence in Thailand to drive to Bangkok car hire?

![]() Nice lookin bike. I've got one of those thingsl; beat to shit, can't get out of it's own way. I parked it about two years ago might not start now. Thought about getting it dressed up like the ones posted above, but I really can't be bothered working on it. Fixed up, still wouldn't ride it - doubt my ol' lady would either.

A friend road a Honda Wave all the way from Pattaya to Phnom Penh with no problems !! This one costs 25,000 baht and is done to your own specs by a shop in Bangkok speciallising in small bikes. O.K for local trips of upto 20 miles but further than that better wheel out something bigger. The last big bike I had was a Triumph Daytona ( 500 cc twin ) but that was a lonnnnnnnnnnnnnnnng time ago. | |

Platinum 175cc. A lot of people slag them off but I haven't had many problems and it is a few years old. Gets me around the country when I am off road so it does me for now. I'd like a big arsed chopper but I couldn't use it on the roads where I live so this is it for now. Picasa Web Albums - Bangkok Jack - Bike

BTW, just got my bike back from the registration / inspection Monday , still have to wait another month plus for the actual plate and book, but they gave me some paperwork to show the BIB if stopped. paid 50,000 initially March 17th another 20,000 last Monday and the balance when I get the plate/book-10,000. almost there. I ordered the Vance & Hines pipes, Arlen Ness big Sucker and a Fuel pack should have em changed out sometime next week, can't wait.
