Just about got the BROS 650 singing at last.
After swapping the wheels over from the 400 ,(400 has an 18 inch rear) flushing out and refilling the front end with ATF and setting the rear shock up I started getting some turn in and a bit of feedback from the bugger.
After much searching , haggling and stuffing about , (many thanks to mrsquirrel for the links !) I settled on Dunlop Sport K510,s front and rear even tho at 10 grand fitted and balanced I feel I could have got a better deal in bkk.
They hang on real good in the hot/n/dry , but the front is a tad skiddish in the wet. Not too sure if its the rubber on the road or the rear set too high and hard.
Fitted a high flow muffler so the world knows im coming but the jetting is still way rich.
Bringing me to the point of this ramble ..... Honda in phuket cant/wont or are just too Fkin lazy to sort me some mains for it so i will put it out there ..
Cv carbs VDGKA .... front 138 , rear 132 main jets. Anybody know where i can source some ?
well fuck, I bought a new Honda Air Blade,,108cc of raw EFI power, sumbitch will top out at just under 100 KPH.
Now aint that sumthing to use for shopping trips..
Was "seeing them" a few weeks ago. Some where between Mae Sariang and Mae Hong Song I had this raggedy old Yamaha 250 two stoke that looked on its last legs come inside me on a flat, tight turn as I was scraping the floor boards. Figured I'd get him on the next decent straight. never saw him again.Originally Posted by Travelmate
I had was having a great fcukin time. Pretty sure he was thinking teh same damned thing.
You could try doing that Honda F2 front end conversion on it. Reckon that would tighten things up nicely.Originally Posted by shaggersback

foking pissed off, I got my new triple trees and had the bearing pulled and fitted to the new trees that take 1" bars, and now the dumb barsteds that I ordered the bars and controls, cables from just contacted me and canceled my order after 4 weeks of waiting for it all to arrive. As well a new petcock I ordered turned up and its the wrong size.
so I guess the bike wont be going anywhere this time home
Why did they cancel? Out of stock?
They said I ordered the wrong part for my bike, which is bullshit. I can fit anything 1" I want to my bike, They say they tried to e mail me yet there is not one single email from them in my ebay mail. Ok so now I make contact with them and tell them again what length cables I need and then they canceled the order and refunded my money.
^ that sounds frustrating as hell rigger. a retailer you usually use or ebay?
True. Completely true.Originally Posted by Travelmate
FACT!
That ones a e bay thing for 12" apes with all controls and cables for 600 USD. Anyway going to Khon kaen tomorrow so she might end up with 1" honda controls on it. I tried a CV carb with a thunder kit 195 main 45 slow lost to much grunt, cleaned the crap out of my mukuni and put it back on and she is sweet again. I think I will put a fuell filter in this timeOriginally Posted by AnthonyR1
Jesus Christ Rigger, don't you know better than to run without an inline filter?
Nothing wrong with them Kuni carbs, I prefer them over S&S., but my buddy in Oregon has always used a SU.
There was a bunch went thru here awhile back and one dude damn near had to stand on his seat to reach high enough to get his hands on his Ape Hangers.
Ebay, I order a driver backrest. ad said for vn1500 My bike) or Nomad. so, after over 3 plus weeks I get the Nomad backrest. If I could put it on, the way the brackets are designed, I would have to sit on the F'n thing.
I paid $110 USD + 40.00 shipping, and 20 duty. $60 buckss shot to hell, so I emailed them almost a week ago to just send me the brackets off a VN1500. Over a week now and no word. So my next email tonight will be a bit more explicit. How the fuck does some idiot screw up a choice of 2...>>>I'm pissed.

yeh I know, I did have the fine metal filter in the petcock but wasnt enough, I am limted with room to put one in as its all open and dint want a ugly plastic filter sticking out but will try and fined a nice custom one today.Originally Posted by blackgang
Foking more bad news the guy that got my petcock for the tank thought he would do me a favor and save me some money and welded in a strange type thread into my gas tank and now cant get a petcock for it
Rigger, just an idea, you might try tapping out the thread to something you can use, unless of course it's too big to begin with. If that's the case, then you could either weld up the hole, or use some liquid steel and then tap it out to the size you need.

Mine just arrived and looks like it is a real nice bit of kit
I think I've still got the original filter on my bike. Do you have to change them when they get to 30 years old?Originally Posted by Rigger
