The Honda XR's had the sameproblem same engine. I think it is because the cams run directly in the heads- no cam bearings

Well my bike frame and tins for the mutant chopper arrived a few days ago cost a little more than I expected, about 60K to fly it in from newyork to Bangkok and anther 45K to clear customs and get it up to Khon kaen. Now I just have to get the engine in and I can start getting it all together

I ride a Honda 125 Dream which certainly is not a dream to ride but convenient for town shopping etc.
It's a far cry from earlier days when I used to own a BMW R90S followed by a Laverda 750 SF2 and finally a Laverda 3C.
I don't think I would have the reflexes or the nerve to ride a modern day super- bike these days as they are just manic.
