I thought so too, but I think it was "What was the favourite car you owned" rather than first car, so I left things alone.Originally Posted by sabang

What was your first car ( 1 2 3 4)
Fiat 126 I believe, 4 door piece of shite that cost about 80 quid and had 6 months of tax and MOT still on it, luckily, my life style started to improve after that
Gosh! Do you really think I'm super.Originally Posted by peterpan

First ever new car Mini 1275 GT also written off fairly quickly.
^ Nice car. I beat a few of those in my day!
^ You would not have beat mine!!
The one I owned was pearl white and was fast.
My first car was an AC Cobra.
I smashed it up after two weeks.
I was only 17 at the time and still at school so did not have the money to repair it.
I was lucky enough to find an old Fiat Punto and used parts from it to repair mine
Only kidding
^
^^
Please tell me that is photoshop and somebody didn't really do that to an AC Cobra
My second car was an Aston.
Damn good car but used so much petrol I couldn't afford the insurance.
A month after I got it some fool in a 7 tonner pulled out in front of me and whallop I wrote off the front end.
Fortunately I found a rusty old mini that I could use for parts.
I reckon I did a good job on it. What you think ?
Nice work Thetyim.
I am sure the fuel consumption was drastically improved with the 850cc 4 cylinder.
This embarrassing piece of crap, a Morris Marina;
Cost me 40 quid. After 6 months I swapped it ( and paid 100 quid on top) for one of these, a lovely Panorama Elite which I lived in for a year until it got twatted by a bunch of cops in a beanfield on the way to Stonehenge in '85

It looked just like a carnival - at first. The weather was sunny and music played as the 140 vehicles set off towards Stonehenge. The 600 or so Travellers were on their way to attend the annual free festival on squatted land beside the ancient stones. A few hours later the convoy had been ambushed by more than 1,300 police officers; dozens of Travellers were injured, all but a handful were arrested, and every one of their vehicles was destroyed.

Nice registration number, assume that was before you 'qualified'.
Aaaaaah my first jalopy........I was SO proud of it.
Sadly no photo to show. It was a 1937 Wolseley ex-Police car.
There was a lot of wood in the construction. It was after all Coach built!
The doors opened in quite the opposite way to todays. Made it very easy to get in and out of.
But there must have been a flaw in the Chassis as it seemed to twist when one went around corners fast. This resulted in the drivers door flying open!
Collected several Cyclists when that happened I did.
And if I went round an S bend both doors would fly open........happy days.
Splashed out and had her resprayed Romain Green and Rover Ivory.
Right 'Passion Wagon' that made her.
Bit embarrassing when Dad asked me what those footprints were on the
head lining............
